I am just curious about who thinks what kind of anime needed to be censored in what ways.
In western states, for TV releases usually they censor out any curse-words and nudity. Any sexual references are also avoided.
Most censorship occurs for anime that is not shown at night. AFAIK the only anime shown late at night are those shown on Adult Swim on Cartoon Network. Even those get a bit of censorship.
You have to remember America's TV networks are relatively picky when it comes to can be aired on TV, because they have to listen to unreasonable complaints about lack of censorship... Even for late-night stuff it seems
