I don't think you get the point about learning languages.
See, by refusing to learn others' native language means that you're at the mercy of their language ability.
Also, you assume that everyone is happy or indifferent about having to speak English with you. Some find it annoying, which is fine unless you're trying to make a good impression.

Also, there's plenty of goods comics & stuff that's not getting translated anytime soon. I get about 50% of my comics in French.
