Let's Eat Whales (100)

1 Name: Risa Kanaya 2006-02-20 12:20 ID:Heaven

I want to use this article to dispute about whale catch.
English only (for International use).

I agree whale catch because Whales eat a lot of fishes (4 times human) and we'll not be able to have rations from sea. Also, we'll not be able to have rations from land with surplus population.

I sometimes see a big pile of small tins in my supermarket, containing Vienna Sausages. I tried them once, out of curiosity, and it left me wondering who the heck keeps buying them?

Why are Italians the biggest food snobs? (3)

1 Name: Anonymous Chef : 2021-02-13 18:18 ID:fQLZY2LC

Why do Italians get so angry if you break the pasta, use milk and butter, or use stock in place of water? Why do they hate flavor? Why is salty pasta water the pinnacle of western cuisine? The real deal Italian food is quite overrated, as much as they complain about Americans eating Italian-American food, the definite article ain't much better.

2 Name: Anonymous Chef : 2021-02-14 02:50 ID:WTd5JrI2

In short, it's a mixture of the Mediterranean disposition and having no real modern achievements apart from a globally recognized cuisine. This leads to overprotectiveness when it comes to the only thing they have apart from sports cars. The level of this autistic attachment to doing things exactly the way it's been done for generations actively hinders any sort of progress. Italian cuisine isn't growing or developing at the rate of others. It's all a bunch of renditions of the same old shit. There's no refinement left to do, so it's just stagnating.

One thing to notice with Italians is how insanely ignorant they actually are of Italian cuisine. Italian cuisine is extremely diverse and varies region to region, village to village, and even household to household, yet you see a Italians screaming "MAMA MIA! NO! NOOOO! THAT'SA NOT-A HOW ME NONNA MAKE IT! NOT AUTHENTICO ITALIANO!" Imagine someone from Michoacan saying authentic Mexican food doesn't employ beef, being totally ignorant of the regions that historically relied heavily on cattle ranching. That's the average Italian.

I almost want to sympathize because Italian food is heavily bastardized by pretty much everyone (Americans, British, and Japanese are pretty big offenders), but can't because that's true for a lot of cuisines and you don't see the same same degree of histrionics.

Stuff To Do With Ramen (54)

1 Name: Anonymous Chef : 2007-08-09 19:01 ID:bjdu6t/E

How about a thread about things you can add to/do with ramen for a little variety? Because if you're like me, you are le poor and survive on the local grocer's "10 Ramen Blocks for 4 Dollars" special...;_;

When I don't want the soup flavouring packet added, I usually just add in some mixed veggies and some scrambly egg, for example. I also have a friend who makes cold casseroles with hers and it's pretty good. What do you do?

45 Name: Anonymous Chef : 2012-01-23 18:26 ID:GbfyopQL

My family is Hungarian and a common meal for us is Chicken Paprikash! Since my sister and I love it so much if we just want to have a cheap lunch we put sour cream and some paprika into our (chicken) ramen! So good!
