personally I get sick of bread -- and I don't like that it goes bad quickly and you have to keep buying the stuff. :|

I vote rice, since it keeps longer (cook when you need it) and goes well with almost anything. generally I go with easy to cook veggies and meat, light seasoning...I'm a student so I don't have much time to cook.

bouillon powder is the secret to flavoring boiled veggies. makes life better

You have to buy thick black bread on which you can put what you want. Doesn't go bad fast and provides for a variety of taste while being pretty healthy.
