I failed maths... _| ̄|○ (16)

Yesterday I got to know that I flunked my maths course on geometry at high school... _| ̄|○

Long story short, now I have two options: either retake the exam or the do the course again. The exam would be next week, and I'm kinda undecided whether I should retake the exam. I'm a little bit against retaking the exam because I didn't know anything the first time I took it and I'm not so positive that I suddenly develop these super-geometry-prowess skills over the weekend.

On top of all I have to pass this course, otherwise I'll never graduate from high school. But I just suck at maths, I can't help it! >:(

Of course, there is the third option, but I'm not so keen on becoming a NEET...

Study your ass off and take the exam anyway. You'll probably flunk, but at least it'll make things easier next year.

You must be pretty fucking stupid to fail geometry. I suggest you stop your bitching and study for 15 hours a day this weekend, and ask your teacher for help if posible.

Study and re-take the test. Geometry really isn't that hard. If you seriously don't understand it, ask the teacher for help

Believe me, that teacher wants you to pass to make her life easier. So, please, just ask her for help

You absolutely should take the test again. If nothing else, you have an idea of what you should be studying this time around, so you know where to focus.

Failing isn't a problem. Not trying again is.

I totally agree with talking to the teacher. If you go to her and explain that you're willing to do whatever it takes to pass, and you study really hard this week, and you still fail, she might just bump up your grade a little so you can pass. This does happen sometimes, but only if she feels like you deserve it.

Good luck!

A good tip:

If you have your old exams/quizes just study those and try to figure out how to solve all of the problems on them. Should be easy as you probably have the answers, it was explained, or you can look it up in your book.

Once you figure those out you're pretty much safe, as it will probably just be a rehash of those or something similar.

And study harder.

Thanks everyone. :)

I have to tell you guys, when I was writing that post I had already made up my mind: I wouldn't re-take the exam. But I canged my mind after reading all your comments. I'm gonna study over the weekend really hard (though it's not like I have all the time in the world, I've got loads of other schoolwork to do).

>>13 Actually, I have the correct answers for our last maths exam (yes, the one I flunked...) because our teacher has a habit of giving an answer paper along with the exam when returning them so that we can check on our own what went wrong. It'll definitely come in handy! :D

>>12 I hope that would happen. But we'll have to see.

You've made the right decision. Good luck!
