May 6th, 2006: It appears that our host didn't act like a total cockbite and actually followed through with their moving of the servers to a new home. Great! But of course they restored the servers to a week old backup and didn't even bother to restore the MySQL databases at all. They did however run my shitty firewall script, judging from the bash command history on img.iichan.net! Aces!
All said and done, iichan should be up and running in a few days.
May 5th, 2006: Well, it appears that our host has decided to cut and run from the entire webhosting industry all together, leaving us and many other disgruntled customers in the dark.
It was a huge shock to us to find out yesterday that our host was not only going to Mootxico, but that they had outright lied to us when they said "oh hey we're moving your server to a new home." They didn't. Luckily for us, one of us was a SomethingAwful member and saw the notice in SH/SC about our host being a little bitch and running off with our money/servers. Thus we had time to back up all of the boards and databases before they decided to shut down the servers.
And so, IICHAN will be back in a few days. A few changes will occur, but overall it'll return to what it was.
