...does that make any sense? I saw the trailer for Jarheads this weekend and I liked the song that played during it, even though I'm not a hip-hop fan. Really, the Gorillaz and random non-US stuff like MC Solaar (France) and Energy (Taiwan) is as close as I normally get. Anyway, the song is "Jesus Walks" by Kanye West. The contrast between the choral vocals and the rap is pretty sweet. I'd like to acquire some more along those lines, but I have NO IDEA where to start. Any recommendations?

well, if you gave us a more comprehensive image of your musical taste i'm sure at least one person here could think of something that matches your interests

let's say you name five bands you like, some genres or something

hiphop is a wider genre than most realize

Hmm, not sure how much more specific than "should kind of sound like this particular song" I can get, anyway ... if I give you groups I like, it probably won't help, because my taste is pretty eclectic. Recently I've been listening to Gorillaz, Agatsuma, Faye Wong, the Eels, Voltaire, Vanessa-Mae, Cibo Matto, NIN, TMBG, Massive Attack, Daft Punk, and the Katamari Damacy soundtracks.

If that helps. :)
