  • He hides too well
  • Resources got squandered elsewhere
  • Nobody is looking for him
  • There is no oil where he is now
  • He's still on the payroll of the CIA
  • His brothers would cause problems on the oil supply front
  • The reward was too small
  • The reward was too large
  • He's dead

he's too unimportant and would be useless/more of a problem if caught?

I personally suspect he's been dead since November of 2001. I think they got him at Tora Bora. Either his body was mangled beyond recognition in the initial bombing by the Air Force, or else they captured him, then quietly shot him through the head and dumped him in the Indian Ocean hundreds of miles from land wearing cement shoes.

Announce his death, and you make him a martyr forever. Put him on trial and it's a worldwide media circus that will last for years. Imprison him and Arab terrorists add "and release Osama" to their list of demands. Better to just quietly kill him and keep it a secret.

Notice that he hasn't released any videotapes of himself mugging for the cameras and chortling since before the attack on Tora Bora. Nothing verifiable and provable, known to be really from him, has been heard in three and a half years. Not one word, and this is a man who LOVES publicity.

I think he has to be dead.

I think >>3 is correct.

Either way, Dead or Alive. All we really need him for now is punishing him for 9/11 and attacks prior to that. Al-Queda has grown up in the last 4 years. They have gone from being a centralized terrorism group, lead by the one and only Osama... to being factions, seperate groups all united by name and cause alone. They act independently from one another, and share the name for thats the Ideals they follow, as well as it is a name that is recognized world wide and feared by many. OBL is no longer a priority. Al-Queda will possibly never die. If we manage to take one cell down, more will rise in their place. This is the newest chapter in warfare. From Midieval times when battles were schedualed, to the revolutionary age in which everyone Lined up and then shot at each other, to the trench warfare of WWI, to the air wars of WWII, to the gurella tactics of the VietCong, and now into the new chapter of ruthless terrorism.

I would not call this ruthless terrorism a new chapter in warfare. They are not doing anything that actually hurts. They are more of a nuisance, a mere annoyance, than anything.

You know, if they were to catch Bin Laden just before Bush retires, it would be mighty convenient...

Pure conspiracy, of course.

"Not one word, and this is a man who LOVES publicity."

Bush too... then Bin Laden should be alive (or dead somewhere, but nobody's aware).

>>3 does make a lot of sense.

Bin Laden 'lives'

DUBAI: Al-Qa'ida's supreme leader Osama bin Laden is alive and continues to wage holy war against the West, the group's No 2, Ayman al-Zawahri, said in a video broadcast over the internet yesterday.

I think that headline just about sums it up. Usually, living people don't need video broadcasts to claim that they are, in fact, alive.

Bin Laden and 9/11 were just a really convenient coincidence for a Bush administration which was already trying to find an excuse to invade Iraq.

I think that Bin Laden is a person Bush made up to hide the fact that everything bad ever done in this country was done by Bush, for Bush, or about Bush (or a combination of the three). There's a fly in your soup? It's Bush. Your shoes are missing? Bush stole them. You wake up one day and you're suddenyl in Antarctica? Bush ordered some of his goons to send you thee on Air Force One so you'd stop looking at pictures of his arse.

No, really. All that was done by Bush. If you don't believe me, then look in your bathroom. If the poop in your toilet isn't missing, Bush is currently waiting behind the shower curtain to eat it.

Trolling is fun.

its simple, they havent found bin laden cos it keeps the public scared of terrorism. if they were to find him sure things would be better for us but the goverment is not gonna be able to spoon feed all that propaganda its been doing for the last couple of years. I mean why the hell did the US invade iraq???
