Hi, I need some help concerning a video camera that records on DVD-Ram's. I wondered how I can transfer the content of the DVD-Ram to the computer, or how the computer would be able to read the DVD-Ram. Do I need a special disk drive or a specific driver?

You need a DVD drive that specifically supports DVD-RAM. DVD-RAM is a rewritable format so you'll probably find it bundled into a regular DVD+/-RW drive. Your camera may also have an option for directly transferring the video via a USB or Firewire cable.

The camera has a USB port and I could connect it to the computer and transfer the files. However, the files are in *.vro format and I wonder how I can make it work with a movie editing program. I tried with Sony Vegas 6.0 and Windows Movie Maker but it won't work.

Convert the .vro to a mpeg-2 with a competent mpeg editor, like Womble Mpeg Video Editor. No re-encoding needed, as the mpeg stream is already contained in the .vro. The .vro is actually just a .vob with an .ifo included (instead of external).

>>5 Yeah I was finally able to work it out. My dad actually lost the cd that came with the camera. The CD contained a program from the manufacturer that allowed us to see the camera content and export it as mpeg to the computer.
