There were some flaws preventing me from liking the movie...
Why didn't her hair grow AT ALL in that roughly <1 year period?
There's realistically no way a woman could love a man after/because of that prison treatment.
The majority of the viewing audience probably didn't even know who Edmond Dantes was, and those that did might find it insulting. This tale of revenge was truly not as epic or engrossing as the real Counte of Monte Cristo.

I guess this is to be expected from D.C. Comics, though.
