I enjoyed the original manga by Masamune Shirow very much. I did not care for "Man-machine Interface", the 2nd part, though. I thought it was far too confusing and I also don't like the CG style Shirow-san has been using in that manga.

I also enjoyed the first movie (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0113568/) but have not seen the second one yet (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0347246/).

The same goes for the TV series, GITS SAC. The first season was very good, but I still have to see the second one.
