[Konata] Lucky Star [Otaku] (267)

Fans of Lucky Star, come here! Let us discuss the series!

It started off horrible (food oh my GOD), but after they switched directors, it was great. After watching the first episode, did anyone actually force themselves to watch the next? Most people just dropped it, but it has changed for the better.

2 Name: Kite_DH!3GqYIJ3Obs : 2007-06-30 08:14 ID:3cTWaVDR

this week i thought a.f.k. dropped lucky star, because some stupid idiot on 4chan said that (-_-)

3 Name: Random Anime Otaku : 2007-06-30 13:47 ID:75ULhxhT

I actually found the food thing charming, if not laugh out loud funny. orz. It has been more consistently funny lately. The Christmas cake bit was even quite touching.

The best part so far has been the animate store parody. BURNING PASSION!

4 Name: Random Anime Otaku : 2007-06-30 14:39 ID:YEw78Nj2

It didn't start off horrible. :(

5 Name: Random Anime Otaku : 2007-06-30 16:56 ID:qagDBiIE

Man, nobody got that first scene?! I thought it was pretty hilarious. A subtle, slow-paced, ridiculously obsurd conversation with all kinds of sexual innuendos. You guys didn't like it? I guess it's Japanese humor, sometimes lost on Americans.

Why did they get rid of Takemoto? KyoAni said something like he "hasn't reached standard of director yet". But the guy has FMP, and a Haruhi ep and all kinds of stuff under his belt.

6 Name: Random Anime Otaku : 2007-06-30 17:12 ID:qagDBiIE

Correction: why did they get rid of Yutaka?

Actually didn't Akira suddenly shout "Who the hell is Yutaka!?" When reading the script at the end of Lucky Channel (was it ep 5?)

7 Name: Random Anime Otaku : 2007-06-30 17:50 ID:XPRq0Dkg

Konana's dad is still my favorite character. Best pedophile ever (^o^)/

8 Name: Kite_DH!3GqYIJ3Obs : 2007-06-30 22:13 ID:hEcOsCsL

the comiket in episode 12 was awesome, i lol'd when akira's thingy was beaten down, lol.
the lucky channeru at the end was kinda boring, ORZ

9 Name: Random Anime Otaku : 2007-07-01 05:47 ID:yWBNygtu

I'm pretty sure Kona-chan's dad is an ephebophile, like me.

>>8
I thought the LS bit was funny, after spending the episode wondering when she was going to make her cameo.

The anime store guys were still gold. Putting their hearts into selling unpopular merchandise! I also loled at Kagami's discovery of yaoi. Tsukasa seems to have gone back to "helpless moeblob". Konata's military-style briefing before Comiket was awesome.

"Ephebophile" is latin for "I don't want to admit I'm a pedophile".

nonsense nonsense, true pedophiles are repulsed by the sight of breasts

But what about all the secondary characters from the manga, don't they have to make an appearance pretty soon?

I actually think Lucky Star started out with a dull flame that has been growing each episode. This weeks epiosode with the comiket was hillarious, especially when Kagami stopped to look at the FMP doujin. I thought that was funny because it's such an innocent looking character doing something dirty. Especially how embarassed she was. Since I am a huge Toriyama fan, I was hoping they would do Cha La Head Cha La, for the ending credits and the moment I thought this, they did so! I was so happy lol. Anyone elses oppinions for this weeks episode?

16 Name: Random Anime Otaku : 2007-07-03 05:08 ID:XPRq0Dkg

Just watched 12 after having it on my computer for a few days, I haven't laughed so hard from Lucky Star ever. It really DOES get better each episode.

This show just plays of all the otaku subculture, and I don't really see if any non-otaku would get it. I already haven't got 1 or 2 jokes, so imagine what it is like for someone who never watches anime!

Why did all the women at the counters have the same raspy voice? To say that they are all the same?

18 Name: Random Anime Otaku : 2007-07-04 03:45 ID:C/sohNkp

>>16

Haha, that's funny. That's because all the "extras" are played by Fumihiko Tachiki. I think it's funny hearing their raspy voices trying so hard.

19 Name: Random Anime Otaku : 2007-07-04 15:08 ID:Heaven

> I already haven't got 1 or 2 jokes

Yeah, no, it's pretty much a given that there are far, far more jokes that you didn't get and didn't even notice were there. There are a lot of them, and many are played very, very subtly.

20 Name: Flaming Eternity : 2007-07-04 20:04 ID:na8LYZnP

I thought a lot of jokes were fairly easy to understand. That's just me though, I was re-watching episode 1 yesterday , and I remembered why I continued watching this series, it was because I thought it was an odd way to start a series off by them discussing food. So I watched more of it :D

Man, I remember the days when AFK managed to release a sub within the first three days of the original broadcast date. Where have those days gone now? I guess I'm just spoiled. I can't stand the thought of being a whole week behind, nay more!

Well this week's Lucky Star was ok, It's just that it's saturday, and that is technically a week since it aired... Since Lucky Star comes on Japanese broadcast every saturday. My question is, will it be a whole other week before another one graces my eyes? This one can only think yes it will. :( Well how was episode 13 for anyone else?

31 Name: Random Anime Otaku : 2007-07-08 13:10 ID:yWBNygtu

By the way, what was with that comment from Konata about guys from foreign countries liking their girls small?

I mean, isn't that Japan, in all honesty? :-)

Considering Strato is pretty much the best guy out there, I'm not sure help would be a good idea.

Also, I finally watched 13, and while the ending was hilarious, the rest is kind of pushing up against that wall that PPD crashed right into, where it starts to feel as if there are more references than actual show, and the whole thing gets sort of hollow. I mean, how much Sgt. Frog was there in that goddamn episode? And a Geass reference? That's just tacky.

34 Name: Random Anime Otaku : 2007-07-08 22:38 ID:6CwUFZOJ

I'd give Konata chocolate.

35 Name: Random Anime Otaku : 2007-07-09 04:54 ID:n/Pt/g9p

>>33

I have to agree. It was fun, but I'd like it if they got down to business tried to develop a plot line, even if it's a satirical one. Then again, I haven't read the manga, and the writers were probably reluctant to deviate to much from the yonkoma's comic-strip format.

36 Name: Random Anime Otaku : 2007-07-09 06:01 ID:XPRq0Dkg

>>33 FAMILY GUY SYNDROME

I thought the show was funny this time, but still just typical Lucky Star. I've laughed a lot, but it's already been 13 episodes and I haven't felt any real impact from the show other than it's just a regular comedy.

I agree about the plot line.
(Spoilers, but if you haven't seen the show then you probably shouldn't be in here anyways).

In example, in Azumanga Daioh, at least they had them go through a little time line and then they finally passed High School and went their separate ways. Sure, they had all of their summer trips, ending school trip to Okinawa (I think), etc. and it all kept going constantly.

Lucky Star is like Family Guy in the respect that it is just a bunch of random culture jokes (or anime in this case). In example, you know how Peter has a flashback almost 50 times every single episode? That is almost like Lucky Star, except with allusions to anime/manga/2ch/whatever. One of my problems with episode 13 was when Kagami was giving the boy chocolate, but it all turned out to be fake.

Lucky Star really is just a 4 panel strip comic put into TV format, nothing more.

37 Name: Random Anime Otaku : 2007-07-09 06:28 ID:yWBNygtu

There was some other series I watched recently (can't remember which one it was now...) where they had Valentines day and then New Year a couple of episodes after.

So far, Lucky Star has been well behaved in this respect.

38 Name: Random Anime Otaku : 2007-07-09 13:32 ID:ZruHhcVS

39 Name: Random Anime Otaku : 2007-07-09 17:47 ID:n/Pt/g9p

>>38

What?

What does that have to do with the show?

40 Name: Flaming Eternity : 2007-07-09 18:46 ID:na8LYZnP

That was also nerve racking to me! When the chocolate giving was fake. I like Konata but I think Kagami is my favorite character.

41 Name: Random Anime Otaku : 2007-07-10 02:11 ID:n/Pt/g9p

Yeah, but the chocolate business was so freaking corny and sappy, not to mention tsundere-exaggerated if it wasn't a fantasy I would have to vomit. It just wasn't in keeping with the show's style and spirit at all, so I was pleasantly relieved when they cut back to Konata's :3 .

42 Name: Random Anime Otaku : 2007-07-10 06:14 ID:yWBNygtu

If it wasn't a fantasy I probably would have fantasised about myself being the one receiving the chocolate.

43 Name: Random Anime Otaku : 2007-07-14 17:13 ID:ZsyVAvMq

This anime bored the hell out of me (and my girlfriend.) It was pure and utter torture; every other shitty anime we have watched together is better than this, we both agree. Little girls talking about shit is not entertainment.

44 Name: Flaming Eternity : 2007-07-14 22:48 ID:BM9pEeIe

There's no need to come on here talking about hating the show. If this is true then u should keep that knowledge to yourself. If you only watched the first episode then try the next and see if you liked it. Also While I'm here I will recomend "Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei" or "Goodbye Despair Teacher," it's about a teacher who can only see teh negetive side of life and is always traying to commit suicide, while this girl he encounters always sees the light side of things. Hillarious give it a download. It's also fansubbed by a.f.k.

45 Name: Random Anime Otaku : 2007-07-15 04:26 ID:ZsyVAvMq

>>44
Having more than one perspective is what discussion is all about. Conversations would never be interesting if everybody completely agreed with each other. Besides, it is relevant to the topic, because if I thought it was boring, other people might agree. We gave up after six episodes; talking about random subjects just isn't our idea of humor.

At the very least, I'd rather contribute my own opinion and give this BBS some activity than hold it back and let the board rot.

46 Name: Flaming Eternity : 2007-07-15 14:08 ID:na8LYZnP

True... True... But You said it so blunt. At least give some points to why you didn't like it? I thought I wouldn't like it at first but I found myself watching every episode and anticipating every saturday for the next episode.

Well I showed my friends Lucky Star and they were lost...didn't get the comiket jokes or the whole marimite thing

54 Name: Flaming Eternity : 2007-07-16 18:41 ID:na8LYZnP

Well that's because a lot of the jokes only appeal to people who either know what they are talking about, or japanese people who know their country. For those of you who don't know Marimite is just short for a bigger name. It's a show about christian school girls.----Very Shojo----. That's why Konata acted so damn proper in that episode.

55 Name: Random Anime Otaku : 2007-07-16 23:09 ID:Heaven

I've only had time to watch the early episodes of LS but it's been good right from the start. I don't quite understand why people dislike the food talk in the first episode. It reminded me of the kind of silly conversations you have with friends, especially after drinking alcohol (oh silly me, anime fans don't have friends headsmack). I don't think it's necessary to require all good comedies to be laugh-out funny. If the overall impression leaves you with a happy grin at the end of each episode then the show has passed muster.

I can't help but miss the karaoke ending. I hope they bring it back. Shiraishi is funny and all, but I hope they don't make a tradition out of him.

And Tsukasa Moeblob > Yutaka Moeblob IMHO.

But it's good to see the new characters!

No plot is really starting to bite here i mean we need a bit of substance besides otaku jokes and moe characters but its an ok show and ill keep watching. love the pedo bear dad and humor, just what you need when yourself is watching this show lol <(itd be worse if i was actually over 20 lol) lucky channel def lost its humor thou, also no flags were triggered in 14 eps, who wrote this sim? :P

Plot shmlot. Not everything has to be a Byzantine epic. Least of all a comedy.

You know that "wtf" feeling you're talking about? That's what it feels like when trying to decipher the content in your IM-speak-ridden mess.

65 Name: Random Anime Otaku : 2007-07-19 20:16 ID:hMcYuoiv

>>63

You know, Lucky Star isn't a dating-sim.

I don't think you've got the spirit of the slice-of-life, four-panel comic strip. It's not really supposed to have a plot. And the humor is loose and absurd, underhanded and self-satirizing. I think you're missing part of the point, which is, there is no point. There is no plot, there isn't even a real joke. It sure is funny though.

66 Name: Random Anime Otaku : 2007-07-19 20:18 ID:Heaven

>>63
The anime is based on a 4koma manga. 4koma are basically Japanese cartoon strips. Do you expect substance from your newspaper's funnies?

Sorry I didn't know that text shorthand was not allowed on the internet. I'll now adhere to the proper conventions of written English. Thank you for setting me on the right path.
>>65>>66
Yes, I know where LS came from, but my view there was that it is on T.V 24 minutes an episode with 20+ of them in this season. While obviously it will have the 4koma style, do you think that it should not have anything more to it now it's on T.V?

Some kind of plot could help the show counter its shortfalls as a TV series, but it would probably create many more, like being too shallow, poorly executed ect, which most likely cause more issues than it would resolve.

The point of this post? The Show should stay the same and if you don't like it, don't watch. It's not made to be anything more than what it already is which, is a faithfull move to TV that is just different to other shows.

69 Name: Random Anime Otaku : 2007-07-20 04:31 ID:yWBNygtu

Azumanga was a 4koma (for the most part) but despite that it still has a storyline.

70 Name: Random Anime Otaku : 2007-07-20 06:32 ID:MGkbco3T

>>69

Well, so does Lucky Star, both, as I see it, are pleasurably paper-thin and shallow like any formulaic slice-of-life (SoL?) plot-lines, buoyed primarily by the performances of its characters.

71 Name: Random Anime Otaku : 2007-07-20 17:04 ID:Heaven

>>68

Thanks, now it's actually possible to read your post without getting a headache, and to top it off, you don't look like a clueless teenager any more. A big win for everyone involved.

72 Name: Random Anime Otaku : 2007-07-20 21:48 ID:MGkbco3T

>>63

Oh, I get what you mean now about flags; a joke!

Yeah, but seriously, you can't expect the writers to make their female leads get taken. Well I guess they could, we'll see, but I think this one is in more of the Azumanga Daiou tradition, where that aspect of the plot remains open-ended.

73 Name: Random Anime Otaku : 2007-07-23 01:37 ID:Heaven

BTW, what is the Japanese word for a slice of life story?

74 Name: Random Anime Otaku : 2007-07-23 11:17 ID:XDiV8VAM

I think the show could be worse. I like the somewhat fast pacing despite the nonexistent plot. Watching Konata and Kagami bounce off each other is the main attraction, and it certainly doesn't disappoint in that respect. It does get pretty tedious getting through the entire show for these moments; I can only hope that they increase in frequency with better humor as the show progresses. I'd probably drop the Haruhi references too, but then it'd probably lose half its audience...

Actually you can make a Matroska video with audio and subs but no video, and it does play, at least in mplayer.

Of course it would be better if it could do visualisations under the subtitles, and it would be good if the subtitles were animated like a karaoke track...

> Of course it would be better if it could do visualisations under the subtitles, and it would be good if the subtitles were animated like a karaoke track...

Actually, mplayer can sorta do that, it's just not enabled by default. Try to use an ass file which has some effects as the subtitle file (muxed in or not, doesn't matter), and pass it the -ass switch. I'm reasonably sure you could do quite interesting things by using the ASS engine not only for subs, but also for visualizing things.

Or, you could fire off a mail to the mplayer devs asking for them to include some visualization library ;)

(Offtopic, yay!)

Why does that bother you? You already understood the words, you you didn't need them translated. Those who don't, need them translated.

That's kind of the point of translation, to actually translate words.

Seriously, Strato's work for a.f.k. is just about the best in the entire field of fansubbing, and I say that as somebody who dabbles in translation himself. I really don't see any reason why one would prefer any other translation, unless maybe you have become so used to the awkward work that passes for translation for so many groups, that you think that is actually something to strive for?

112 Name: Random Anime Otaku : 2007-08-12 06:29 ID:8Jfc6a1T

>>111

Depends what you call "awkward work"

I like the fact that [Guerrand] can get his up within 48 hours of the original broadcast first of all.

But I also find a lot of karaoke and lyric subbing for OP distracting, I don't appreciate Strato's rather awkward insistence on translating moe as "turn-ons" and "tsundere" as bipolar. I don't see any need in attempting to translate "ittadakimasu" or similar phrases that don't make any sense in English.
Don't get me wrong [afk] does a fine job.

I don't mind a translation that cuts very close to the original language, even those that maintain third person or some of those Japanese portmanteaus.

It's like the difference between pulpy or pulp-free orange juice. Some people like to have more of the original fruit floating around in their drink.

113 Name: Random Anime Otaku : 2007-08-12 12:09 ID:Heaven

> Depends what you call "awkward work"

I mean writing English which is nothing like anything a real person would say. That would very definitely include leaving words untranslated. Once again, if you really want the Japanese words, you're already hearing them and understanding them, aren't you? They don't suddenly disappear just because they are not also written out.

If it bothers you that somebody is actually translating into English, maybe you should be learning Japanese and not bothering with translations at all, hmm? You're not really going to properly understand those out-of-context Japanese words properly when they're part of a bunch of (awkward) English anyway.

If you get hung up on the fact that a handful of words are not treated as you like them, you're missing out the far more important issue of the rest of the translation being in proper and natural English. This is far more important for properly communicating the spirit of the original text. Awkward and grammatically incorrect English carries far less emotional import than natural-flowing English, and thus loses out much more of the characterization. That is a far larger issue than whether you get to satisfy your otaku elitism by seeing Japanese words printed on the screen or not.

114 Name: Random Anime Otaku : 2007-08-12 17:36 ID:54vjV8gn

hrmmm...

but moe is still moe. There's no Engslish word for moe, nor should there be. Everybody who's going to be watching Lucky Star should know what moe is.

Some things just don't get translated, even in Criterion Collection editions of Yasujiro Ozu movies. The subtitles just cop out for all the "gokurosama" and other phrases. It doesn't feel all that unnatural.

I don't think it is the role of the translator to Americanize or "Anglificize" the language. It's to convey meaning. The flavor of the Japanese can and in many cases (like in Lucky Star) should still be there, since it's so culture-centric.

115 Name: Random Anime Otaku : 2007-08-12 23:54 ID:Heaven

> I don't think it is the role of the translator to Americanize or "Anglificize" the language.

Just what the hell do you think translation is? Once again, if you really have to have the dialogue in Japanese, then learn Japanese. Complaining that translations are translated is still incredibly silly.

(PS: Strato's still using "moe" in places where the subject is the concept of "moe" itself.)

116 Name: Random Anime Otaku : 2007-08-13 02:14 ID:WVpsyk3w

>>115

>Just what the hell do you think translation is? Once again, if you really have to have the dialogue in Japanese, then learn Japanese. Complaining that translations are translated is still incredibly silly.

I know one thing a translation certainly should strive to avoid, and that's being recognizable. If I have to stop even for a split second to wonder why X was translated as Y, the translator has failed.

And no, there's a difference between pure translation and "Americanization". The latter is a pitfall for many commercial translators, but I find most fansubbers, including Strato, most of the time, tend to avoid it.

I think this respect for the original language/culture that demands a bit more knowledge from the viewer, is what makes fansubbers more attractive than their commercial counter types.

> I think this respect for the original language/culture that demands a bit more knowledge from the viewer, is what makes fansubbers more attractive than their commercial counter types.

In other words, nothing but elitism, plain and simple. "It's BETTER because OTHER PEOPLE don't UNDERSTAND it!"

118 Name: Random Anime Otaku : 2007-08-13 14:12 ID:bUsAM2ah

>>117

No, it's not "BETTER because OTHER PEOPLE don't UNDERSTAND it"

It's better because "I understand it". There's a slight difference.

You say it's "elitism" like it's a bad thing. Good things come from learning about stuff. Lucky Star wasn't written to pander to the masses, and even less so for American masses, where so many cultural references would go right over their heads. Why should fansubbers do any different?

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that episode 24 is definitely the weakest of the series.

That dance routine, I mean, just sinful. They should have changed the song. It just didn't mesh with the world at all, it wasn't in context; felt like a rush-job.

Un-reinforced fanservice that lacked the charm or grace of some of the equivalent culture-fest fanservice in Haruhi.
Bah...

Well, they had to go out one way or another, and Lucky Star isn't conducive to climactic endings, maybe they should have acknowledged that fact more in this episode.

Un-reinforced fanservice? They jam it down your throat just about every other episode. If it's not a comment about Miyuki's excessive cans, it's about that green haired chick's lack of them, a Haruhi or "old school" anime reference, or some allusion to the naughtier side of otakuism. Nevermind that the only otakus, or main characters, for that matter, are girls, and this show is simply drenched in that intangible idea called "moe." This show isn't a show, it's fanservice incarnate, like its teaching the viewer how to act like an otaku. ...Yet somehow, it's supposed to be endearing. Not to me of course, I think I was expecting a little more substance than what it had to offer, but that's me.

Well, I mean, OK if you want the show is entirely fanservice.

But that doesn't make bad contextually-jarring fanservice acceptable. IT has to be wrapped in a convincing Lucky Star package first.

I just felt the animation for the last sequence wasn't really up to scratch either. I don't know, I think they could have scratched their heads a little more for the last sequence you know? That unnatural laugh at the end didn't do it for me.

Why can't they just do a face-fault, or some other kind of tsukkomi thing like in the rest of the series?

I'll never forget the last episode of Lucky Star. I had been waiting for so long for them to do the dance. I was patiently sitting, waiting, knowing it was coming. It was all I had left. Now, finally I have experienced it. I no longer have any need for anything in life. My life is complete. I have reached a level of enlightenment beyond nirvana or any so called inner peace. After waiting for over twenty four weeks I have finally been able to experience the greatest moment in the history of anime, no mankind, the enhanced Lucky Star dance. I was sweating the whole episode, I knew it was coming, I could feel it. It was calling to me; I could feel its force telling me it was coming. It wanted me and I wanted it. From the second I saw them talking about a cheer-leading routine I knew it was coming. Everything I had been hoping for, this whole anime season, no my whole life was leading up to this very point. The second it began I showed no emotion, my eyes were glued I was perplexed and amazed. The meaning of life and the entire history of man and the universe and everything before and after flashed before my eyes. It was the most amazing experience of my life. After it ended I looked to the floor and noticed I was now in midair, hovering five feet above the ground. I have no need for worldly possessions. I know everything and need nothing. I completely understand the universe. I have reached Lucky Enlightenment.

Actually the ending song which Shiraishi sung is the main theme of the cirtain famous movie.
The movie and the last episode shares the same subject, and maybe the messages from those creators are same too.
Reference to the movie can be found in Haruhi series as well. It seems the Kyoani staff really love the film.

That's the point. Then why they need to put that horrible thing at the ending

To everyone complaining about a "lack of development":

Well, the way I see it, I have nothing against an anime series with no "development" as you say, since most don't. In fact, I would dare say that every anime that presents a complex plot of the sort is usually just doing it for show. Usually the plot in anime is just another aesthetic device, often formulaic and based on database type elements, like the character designs themselves.
There's nothing deep or substantial about it, nor should there be. Just because something has little-to-no "depth" doesn't mean it can't be rich, touching, or well-observed.

Takahata Isao is one of the few anime-film-makers that seem like distinct exceptions to this rule, but even in his highly emotional and almost transcendental films there's a kind of self-conscious flatness, I think.

meh, it's best not to make too many rules about these sorts of things. Mostly we're talking about a pop culture that doesn't care for complex stories, phony or otherwise.

Man with Saimoe 2007 and everything everybody seems eager to hate Lucky Star, at least on 4chan they do.

It's like a whole segment of the population are unable to understand what makes Lucky Star so great.

Anybody who hates Lucky Star should instead be directing their anger against anime in general, because that's what a show like Lucky Star, or for that matter Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, and Haruhi and NGE does, it jokes about itself, and anime in general, NGE in bloodier, less funny ways.

Besides, Saimoe should be about MOE not show fanboyism, but I guess that's life.

Anime, and ones like Lucky Star in general, are going to have their fans and their detractors. It's a way of life, and it's the end result of the Slice of Life genre.

I like it because of how it makes no sense. It's like a better version of Seinfeld, whereas Seinfeld just sucked like the Chehalis River.

>>236

There is very little in Lucky Star that doesn't make sense. You're most likely just not getting it.

As an aside, I suspect >>236-237 is the reason why people talk about how a show is funny because it's "random". See, "random" is not actually funny. What people call "random" is when they watch a show like Excel Saga which is full of jokes and references, and they don't actually get the jokes, but do recognize them as jokes, and laugh anyway. This is later rationalized into "it's funny because it's random!".

239 Name: Random Anime Otaku : 2007-12-08 11:38 ID:yWBNygtu

Excel Saga really was random though, in that it bore almost no resemblance to the manga of the same name, but more resemblance to someone throwing up on a piece of video tape.

Anyway, yeah. 4chan pisses me off a LOT because of all the lucky star dissing. I stoped going to /a/ because of it.

The thing is, when I first watched lucky star, the only other series I had seen was azumanga, and I watched it about 4 years before I watched LS. I only got about 2% of the refrences, but I still found the series extreamly funny (I still veiw it as one of the best series I have watched to this day). I actually pretty much thought the 1st episode was horrible, but it picked up as the series progressed. Its very funny

when I saw Lucky-star, I though it was a pain in the ass.. but, when I at last was finished, I sat back and felt this... loss! "what am I supposed to do NOW?!" was my first thought ^^
