The United States Army Air Forces dropped two atomic bombs on the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Japan on the mornings of August 6 and August 9, 1945 during World War II.
The goal was to secure the unconditional surrender of Japan. At least 120,000 people died immediately from the two attacks combined, and perhaps more than 200,000 by the end of the year, from the effects of nuclear radiation. More than 90% of the casualties were civilians.
Japan sent notice of its unconditional surrender to the Allies on August 15, a week after the bombings. These bombings were the first and only nuclear attacks in world history.
I think this post was interesting and would like to thank you for making it, as it brings value to this internet messageboard and enlightens its users.
lol revisionism
I never knew highlighting words was this much fun.
I think I will post a reply, but I will have to go think about it a lot, I don't want to fuck up my reply, writing an intelligent reply all by yourself is hard, you know what I mean? Trying to reply as soon as possible is stupid, and you are bound to make errors that will get you flamed by the first asshole who'd read it. But I enjoyed your post anyway. Love, CO.
