Homer's "Iliad" tells the tale of the First Crusade. When we think of Homer's Troy, we imagine it in fantasy hues of times long gone. And yet the latest research conducted of one of the world's leading mathematicians proves it to us irrefutably: what we know as the "Trojan War" was in fact the First Crusade!
We aren't talking about obvious parallels between two major military campaigns separated by millennia - the Trojan War and the First Crusade are but different names of one and the same military campaign. The former ended up in the distant past due to the blatantly erroneous chronology that we use - one that was created by the Jesuits in the 16th 17th century. This chronology, regarded by many as the absolute historical truth, contains many gaps and repetitions. Most major historical events (as well as personalities and even places) have several phantom duplicates arbitrarily dated to various antediluvian epochs and presumed completely unrelated to one another - the Trojan War and the First Crusade are a perfect example. Our entire view of the so-called "Antiquity" and the Middle Ages changes radically; history becomes streamlined and unencumbered by all the dark ages, lost empires and mystical cyclic patterns that afflict the official version. The duplicates all roll into a single historical reality - Classical Greek poleis become one with the mediaeval Crusader states, ancient Egyptian paganism identifies as Coptic Christianity, and historical Troy, Constantinople and Jerusalem turn out to be the same city on the Bosporus, which we know as Istanbul. The city in Palestine known as Jerusalem today remained a nondescript Arabic settlement called El-Kuds until the 18th century. There isn't a single Crusader map in existence that would locate Jerusalem in Palestine (or indeed give us any detailed information about that region) - unlike modern historians, mediaeval cartographers knew the location of the Holy Land perfectly well.
Sounds absurd? Not if you have read "History: Fiction or Science?" by Professor Anatoly Fomenko - a brilliant mathematician and a true scientist to the core - unconfined by dogmatic thinking and determined to get to the bare historical truth at any cost.
"History: Fiction or Science?" - Challenge to traditional history.
Is it possible that Ancient Rome, Greece and Egypt were invented during Renaissance? Can it be that Jesus Christ was born in 1053 AD and crucified in 1086 AD? Scientific research points to the evidence that many modern beliefs of traditional history are a sham.
"History: Fiction or Science?" by the eminent mathematician Anatoly Fomenko and his colleagues crowns 30 years of meticulous and extensive research. It is the first volume in seven comprising a "Chronology" that exposes numerous questionable notions of traditional history.
"History: Fiction or Science?" describes how the contemporary chronological scale was created and by whom, with the culprits named as the 16th 17th century clergy. The well-known model of history has enjoyed the relentless attention of prominent critics ever since its creation including respected people like Sir Isaac Newton and Jean Hardouin, the court librarian of Louis XIV, the Sun King of France.
Anatoly Fomenko dissects every historical age scrupulously and analyzes the data from every angle imaginable. Roman and Egyptian chronology take a good beating. Poggio Bracciolini and Petrarch take the blame for creating the beautiful legend of a mythical Classical age that never was.
The Biblical events are brought a lot closer to us both historically and geographically. The Biblical Jerusalem is actually the medieval city of Constantinople. The New and the Old Testament swap their positions in chronological order and are shown to refer to medieval events.
Using astronomy and statistics to back his theories, Fomenko delivers an abundant astronomical proof showing that the identified dates of 'ancient' eclipses are blatantly untrue. Fomenko explains the confusion between the Antiquity and the Middle Ages, and how the division between the two is merely imaginary. The book contains in-depth descriptions of the research methods used as well as the most meticulous rendition of the global chronological map with its numerous errors and glitches explained in a very level-headed manner. One doesn't have to be a mathematician to comprehend Fomenko's presentation.
"History: Fiction or Science?" transforms history from fiction into a rocket science. It is a must read for everyone who isn't entirely indifferent to human history and possibly also for those who are.

Now, I donft deny the correlation but, being as I am intellectually barefoot, Ifm puzzled by this brain business. In biology books, one sees drawings that purport to illustrate the evolution of intelligence. For instance, you might see running across the page some ancient and by implication witless reptile (though, hey, maybe it read Kant) with a tiny brain, followed by a small ancestral mammal and then by primitive primates, then chimpanzees (with brains of 420 grams ), and then Man (sort of 1350 grams). The reader is invited to conclude that intelligence tracks the size of the brain in an orderly and evolutionary manner.
But it seems to me that one could arrange the evidence otherwise. You go up the sleepy chain to chimps, which are perhaps smart enough to poke at low-hanging fruit with a stick. Then you come to Man, who does npn junctions and Lebesgue integrals and Dostoevsky. Then, continuing up the scale of brain volume, you find porpoises, with brains larger than ours (1550 grams) but quite dim, and then sperm whales, with gynormous brains (7800 grams) but no discernible theoretical inclinations whatever. Man looks less like the culmination of a comprehensible progression than a wild and inexplicable anomaly.
"Let's get to 1000 by x" and "ITT we x" are just another way to say "I want to make a popular thread but I have no original ideas." One of these kinds of threads every once in a while might be kind of funny, but damn guys, lay off it a little, it's getting patently ridiculous scrolling down through a full page of nothing but the same text.
I suppose this text will be copied into every reply because every trace of free thought and creativity has been drained from DQN. (Or rather, it never existed in the first place but we used to at least copy interesting threads from 2ch.) We need to get some of the old crap back; it may have been crap but there were at least some brain cells in the primordial soup.
