All right, I'm a bloke with thick hair that frizzes all over the place after I shower. I'd like to grow it out like I used to have as a child; back then it was straight and looked terrific. However, now that I'm 21 it just looks like a mess - I don't even like to go to stylists because I find it embarrassing.
So here's my problem. Right now it's maybe 2 inches long. Where do I go from here? Do I go get it cut to let it grow, or just let it grow from here? The problem is how do I go from having 2 inch hair to longer hair, without the transition making me look bad? I'd like to get it thinned out, but only once it's longer. Should I go to a stylist and have it cut so it can grow out evenly, or what?
Halp, thanks!
>without the transition making me look bad
You can't. Only a few lucky people can dodge the awful transition phase, and it's just because almost every haircut would suit them.
Go to the stylist. Don't let embarrassment keep you from going there. Cuz, the only person's thats gonna see it is the stylist, and he/she's probably not gonna point and laugh hysterically at your hair. Going to the stylist is better than walking down the street and letting THOSE random ppl point and laugh at your hair. :)
yup, if you're growning out your hair, just face it. You need to wear a hat or bandana, slick your hair back, or just accept that it will look stupid for a while.
hmm that is some good advice. However- how do I find a stylist- or rather the right one. and what do I ask for when I don't even know what looks good? I don't even know the lingo and have no idea what they're asking me. Like what do I say to them? Are there different stylists for different hair? Help!
