Since I work in Manhattan, there are places to get salad on every block. My favorite (I'm not health conscious; I eat salads for the taste and texture) salad is as follows:
Romaine lettuce
Bacon
Tomato wedges
Black olives
Croutons
a little olive oil and a bit more balsamic vinegar
It is tasty and tangy and meaty and salady.
What do you like? :o
I concur with the topic! i've becun to make a lot of salads lately.
will post more when i'm more conscious later. Bedtime now.
I <3 this radish salad. When the balance is right, I can't stop eating it.
Radishes, julienned - fastest/easiest way is with a mandolin
Red vinegar - enough to cover the bottom 1/3-1/2 of the radishes
Olive oil - enough to smooth out the tang of the vinegar
Parsley - 1 or 2 teaspoons
Salt/pepper to taste
Mix in a bowl and let it sit for 10-20 minutes before serving.
I like fresh sweet raw spinach. Pity it doesn't keep more than a day or two, even in the refrigerator.
It is nice by itself with just a light olive oil and red wine vinegarette, or you can get fancy and add arugula and radicchio and romaine lettuce and thinly sliced rings of red onion and tomato wedges and sliced mushrooms and and and and...
I'm not a vegtable type of person, but I like carrot and raisin salads.
I love ceasar salad. The good kind, not the tomatoes, olives, and iceberg lettuc kind.
Come on guys! Salad is great! (゚∀゚ )
Ceasar salad with grilled chicken, but the dressing must be slightly peppery. Also, instead grilled chicken, grilled salmon. Arugula, red onions, chopped almonds with orange and vinegar dressing is so good as a side with a meal.

Baby spinach is so light and sweet I could eat it like popcorn.
Salad is awesome----but what about salad /wraps/? Make a salad, hell yes, and then throw it into a big goddamn tortilla? That's even more hell yes.
I like mine caesar w/ a plain tortilla.
How do you keep the dressing from spilling when you bite or leaking out the bottom?
You fold it right and wrap a paper towel at the bottom for extra safetly.
(i'm not >>11 btw)
Folding it right means that before you wrap it into a roll, you fold up a part of the bottom over the bottom part of the filling, and THEN wrap it into a roll, when it's positioned like that. Usually prevents leaks for me, but then again, I wrap tight and do not use excessive amounts of sauce.
Here's a way to reduce some of the workload of salad making. When you buy lettuce tear the leaves off as soon as you're home, and wash them. Then store them in a plastic container lined with slightly damp paper towels. It'll stay fresh a lot longer and you'll have a lot less prepwork for making stuff with it.
PROTIP: Chop lettuce with a serrated plastic knife to prevent browning of the cut edges.

I'm not that big of a fan of tortillas; they're usually under (or over) cooked. :(

Yes....<3
And for salads in general, I prefer spinach for greens. :3
bumping the salad thread for new salad recipies :)
I like good ol' fashioned caeser with some grilled chicken and a load of croutons. Yum. And maybe some grated parm on top, just for fun.
Mmm. Salad addiction is the tastiest kind.
I dig baby spinach, arugula (or some other mustard greens), red onions, cherry tomatoes, avocado, grilled chicken and a bit of Maytag bleu cheese. Wonderful.
Also, hearts of romaine, roasted red pepper, roasted corn, black beans, avocado and one part medium salsa, one part ranch dressing.
Oh, and of course a great caesar will always do the trick.
