What are your favorite instant foods? For me, I can't stand Hot Pockets, pizza rolls, or cup noodle. However, I love a certain brand of instant Korean spicy ramen, though I don't like any other kind of instant soup. Taquitos are okay when I need a quick fix of protein.

What do you say? Do you live on instant food, or despise it?

I eat frozen pizzas and frozen french fries. I don't enjoy Ramen that much. It's OK every 6 months but more then that it turns pretty gross, I think it's the absurd amount of MSG that they pack in it.

It's OK if there is nothing else to eat but it's generally not healthy and I try to eat healthy (vegetarian for non-ethical reasons).

I eat much instant food. I personally love any cup ramen. I've been microwaving it ever since I can remember, and I finally decided to make it by boiling water and letting it sit for 3 minutes. It is much much better, the soggy noodles are gone!

I also have frozen pizza every couple of weeks. I don't think the 10 minute baking time is very instant though. :( I used to have cup noodles fairly often, but now I find most of them too salty for my taste. I just get the brick ones and use the noodles for my own soups. I also used to eat frozen Jamaican patties. Those were really good, but even better when heated in a toaster oven.

I like korean potato noodles. Frozen pizzas smell odd after a while. I tried eating a frozen fry once. O_O BLEHHH

Lately I've been eating a lot of Uncle Ben's Ready Rice. It doesn't seem as bad as instant / American rice usually is, although most of the varieties are completely plain so you'll want to have something to put in them (that usually takes me another ten minutes, I'm slow at chopping stuff.) Uncle Ben's Medleys come with more spicing and veggies in the mix, they're pretty tasty.

I also enjoy a bowl of Easy Mac once in a while. Two packets at once, of course.

believe it or not I LOVE microwave burritos. There's a great brand that we get here in the northwest USA, "Don Miguel's", they don't keep long so you don't want to buy a whole bunch of them at once, but anyway, they're really, really good.

Not the brand, microwave burritos in general.

Try the Instant Yakisoba. It's not bad, and trust me, it's a lot healthier than Ramen.

I eat a lot of pre-cooked chili, toss in some hot sauce, and throw it in the microwave. Whatever mediocre taste the chili has, the habenero sauce more than takes care of it. I highly recommend anybody try habenero sauce in chili. It's spicy as all hell, but nothing a tall glass of milk can't fix. If you can find it where you live (US only, I'd believe), buy the Bush's brand. I don't know if it's related to the bag of rocks we call our president but damn is it good.

I also eat a lot of ramen lately, specifically the Maru-chan brand. I toss in a lot of salt (because the first time I had ramen it was a really large, thick kind of ramen that was boiled in salt water and added seaweed) and pepper and a little tabasco sauce to add spice to it.

>>10 That stuff is awesome. Specially the teriyaki flavored.

Also hot pockets, but those rarely fill me up. I guess I must have the stomach of a man. o_o

For instant ramen, Maruchan has been my brand ever since I was 4 or so.

Fuckin' seconded on the chili. I love that stuff. For extra win, add diced fresh vegetables-- I use a bit of tomato, onion, and Serrano peppers-- and a bit of bourbon, variable on the size of the bowl of chili. Amazing.

I found some of those instant Udon noodles pretty good. They come in a plastic bag which you open and then dump the wet noodles into the pan. The broth is ok, and actually tastes like bonito. It's good with some of that sliced up imitation crab meat. Or if you have real crab meat, than real crab meat.

And then there's the insta-ramen-raw egg combo (-)
