Weird-ass food combinations (30)

ITT combinations of two foods which you would never expect to eat together, which turned out to be awesome.

I'll start with a curry donut I had the other day. The outside tasted like, well, a donut, but the inside was chicken curry. And despite that completely freaky sounding combination, it tasted great.

Elvis sandwich-- peanut butter, banana and bacon. Sounds disgusting but is, in actuality, so delicious.

Actually, the one time I had it, it was on whole wheat bread. :D

Otherwise, I am lean chicken and turkey sandwiches through and through, babe.

Steak nachos. Okay, so that's not so strange, but it wasn't something I had thought of trying before.

Also, peanut butter and mayonnaise. Don't knock it 'til you've tried it.

I always liked peanut butter, cheese and mayonnaise together on a sandwich.

While we're on the spreads, vegemite and honey works remarkably well, even though usually you wouldn't think of mixing salt and sugar.

Well, I did say "usually".

When I was in elementary school I used to mix applesauce with ketchup.

When I was an MMO NEET playing FFXI, I used to make baked potatos in the microwave, mash them up and mix them with soy sauce, ketchup, and half of whatever spices looked good, and called it popotos. I'm so freaking pathetic

Was that from Bread Roll? I love their chicken curry donuts.

>>19 *Bread Top, rather

It was from Bread Top, yeah, but I haven't seen one since that time even though I keep going there to see if it has returned. Current top preferences from what the store I use still stocks would be the curry chicken bun, the spicy beef bun, the chocolate croissant and the wiener bun, although the problem with the wiener bun is every time I buy one I think of Mai saying "wiener" and start to giggle.

I had a theory that it was because the Simpsons movie came out around the time when I found it. Also, the chocolate horns appeared the very week Lucky Star 1 came out, and they stopped selling melon bread after Shakugan no Shana season 1 completed.

Now that Shana season 2 is starting, if it comes back again we know there is a conspiracy.

The "weiner bun" has been around for a while. Ah, memories of stepping off the train at Box Hill station on my way to TAFE, picking up a sausage bun at the closest Bread Top. dream

I have had this in Japan at Mister Donut (aka Dunkin Donuts in the states). It was ... ugh. A donut with curry.

Pastry is one thing, donut is another.

29 Name: Anonymous Chef : 2007-11-20 11:51 ID:yNNbyc7g
