There's a Viatnamese food resturant in town that one of my friends loves to go to, but I don't like any of the food I've had so far! I don't like spicy things or sweet and sour very much. Can someone reccommend some good Viatnamese food to me?
Most Vietnamese food is going to be some combination of spicy, sweet and sour.
They do make some great BBQ Beef/Pork/Chicken rice plates at most Vietnamese places that might be a "safe" choice.
Sounds like you prefer bland food...
I like most Japanese food and some of the more mild Mexican dishes. Italian's a regular for me. I just can't stand "fire hot" spicy. Sweet and sour just doesn't sit right with me, but I can eat it if I have to.
The only thing (besides extreme spiciness) I can't handle is cold noodles. I ate cold soba once... It made me gag!
I guess I am a bit picky... sigh
My favorite Vietnamese dish is bun thit nuong cha gio, or roast pork with a fried egg roll over rice noodles. But the noodles sometimes wind up cold by the time you eat it, as they're served atop some cold salad. Yes, you're picky.
Perhaps Banh Mi, a Vietnamese sandwich? Sometimes come with chilis, but not always.
Perhaps a pho ga, Vietnamese chicken noodle soup? Another species of pho?
I don't want to live in your world.
Any Pho is good
I don't like very sweet or sour dishes either.
One of my classic choices when I go to a Vietnamese restaurant is the broken rice with grilled pork strip, shredded pork, fried egg and egg/meat slice. It's like the standard dish there. Everyone's tried it.
A favourite noodle dish would be rice/egg noodle with thin pork strips. The flavour is slightly sweet, but not overpowering.
Pho owns all. Or maybe some spring rolls.
