Most of us never liked peas and carrots when we were kids. Or maybe it was something else. And now we like them now, eh?
Like black olives. They used to disgust me and now I can finish a whole can. Then there is pot pies. I didn't like them back when I was 9 but not long ago when I thought about all that stuff in a pie crust it sounded good and now I love them.
I didn't care for fish, or seafood in general, until I was an adult. I now really like even sushi and sashimi.
Tomatoes, zucchini and peppers.
Zucchini I only like when it's not been cooked to a mush, though. Conversely, peppers I only like when they're cooked enough not to be bitter.
Probably sauerkraut too, though I don't think my parents ever forced it upon me when I was a kid.
I still hate eggplant.
I used to hate turkey and fish, but now I love them both.
I still won't touch Mexican food, though.
When I was younger, I remember being VERY picky.
I hated: Fish, tomato, onion, peppers, salad, beans in chili
I hated the chunks in salsa, and the feeling of peppers, onions and salad was gross.
Now they all taste good! I love fish and salad. Any kind of fish, sashimi included. I'll only eat salad with italian dressing... it's like candy.
Now I'm not too picky, and I adore trying new things.
Miso soup, eel, japanese rolls of the "sushi" variety and related food, are stuff I eat fairly regularly now, and I would have never tried before.
Just about everything I hated as a kid I've grown to love as an adult. I think getting into cooking allowed me to try more ingredients in various forms and in turn love them.
Cow Tongue. I love it.
>>7
I've always loved it, though when I was young my parents never told me what it was but as I grew older my older relatives told me it was cow tongue, I was put off for about a week and went back to eating it.
mushrooms on anything.
Asparagus. Yum.
capsicum! numnumnum
I hated Pears for some weird reason.
Ate one a few months ago and was like "...why do I hate these again?"
I think I hated shrimp when I was really young (because of the tails). Now I just take the tails off.
I still hate onions.
Anchovies! Deliciously salty.
But can't it work in the reverse way too?
I mean, I used to LOVE Fresca as a kid. Now, I don't like it at all...
But... yeah, when I was young I used to hate potato skin. Now I love it
Back when I was 10 I used to hate beer. Now I love it.
i used to HATE onions, but one day my friend forced me to try outback's bloomin' onion, and i fell in love.
I used to hate marjuana, until I smoked that nigga
LOL didn't think i would see this guy again
Nattou.
Used to hate mushrooms and onions, now I love them/
There's so much I couldn't list it all. And lots of stuff I thrilled to as a kid just disgusts me now.
Some things I hated but love now are:
Avocado & guacamole,
Things cooked with anise,
Sour cream,
Cabbage rolls,
Marmalade,
Cooked onions and tomatoes and such,
Coffee-flavored ice cream.
Some things I now hate:
Candy bars,
Sour gummi candy,
Lumps of fat,
Gristle,
Tea with pounds of sugar in it.
I also used to hate sweet potatoes, they reminded me of turds, but I can ...tolerate them now.
