Moca pots (7)

I want to get a moca pot to make something suitably close to espresso, but I have only an electric stovetop. Will this be enough to produce acceptable coffees? (Note that I'm not an utter faggot concerning coffee.)

It kind of sucks.

To make espresso you need around 9 psi of pressure and there is just no way to do that without a dedicated pump.

So-called "dual-purpose" coffemachines that use the pressure from the boiling water get nowhere near that and I don't think a pot is going to do much better.

Why do so many people waste all this time making coffee the hard way when there are instants out there which taste better than most other coffee?

The pleasure of the ritual.

And maybe the "realness" of the coffee when made by oneself.

I have a French press, it's good enough for me, though sometimes I like to make Greek and Arabic coffee too, something about boiling powdered coffee into a spicy, mud-like composition just really does it for me.

Coffee takes no time at all, especially espresso... There is a reason it is called espresso you know? Max brew time for any decent cup of espresso is 27-30 seconds.

If you wanted to troll you should have balked at the cost of the equipment, not the time it takes.

For the record, I got a 3-cup Bialetti pot and it works just fine on an electric stove.
