Please learn how to spell and speak English properly, >>1.
stop buying consoles before they're released
Only 13-year-olds argue about which console is best. '_'
true that. buy the one you like, don't generalize it into market shares
This is now the "retarded idiots talk about consoles" thread.
Real discussion about the Wii goes in this thread: http://4-ch.net/games/kareha.pl/1146159213/l50
Beatmania IIDX is more sophisticated and challenging. Although, to be fair, the US version is... not quite as good as its brethren.
Still, you should try that one out as well.
Alternatively, learn to play the guitar!
pretty fun game, i wish they had more songs in it thou, hope for #2 to be just as good =)
been there before with Guitar Freaks...
My friend from japan showed me this one. It's a large download for us westerners (250MB + 130MB updates) but the game itself is very fun.
There is no English interface, but it's easy to figure out and fun to play.
It's a golf game very popular in japan and korea. You can play with people online, and some of them even like to talk in english (albeit very pporly.)
You gotta register first.. I speak very very poor japanese but anyone who can read katakana can figure this one out.
This is a Korean online game, and it already has an English beta called Albatross18
Making a duplicate thread, and misspelling the title. Way to go, >>1.

Enemy boat spotted.

Jihad Joe! The American Hero!
I delight in glitching, nothing better than ending a game with no kills or flags yet having 80 points.
Have you guys downloaded the patch 1.3?
I love the fact that the ticket allocation seems to be entirely random and based on no actual statistics at all.
Planned for the PC, DS, and Revolution. Get your happy little tree on?

He still has the afro, I see. Thanks to Nintendo, my dreams of selling my paintings at carnivals will come to fruition.
he died like 10 years ago. if he still has the afro, he'd be an afro-wearing zombie.
holy shit i'm buying a DS just for that!
hell yeah the white Afro man returns!!
"We're gonna use a little hunter green here, and we're just gonna put a happy little bush right here. And that happy little bush is just gonna be our little secret.
"And if you EVER tell ANYONE that that bush is there... I will hunt you down and I will CUT YOU!"
That dude was the painting god.
"And now, with a single paintbrush stroke, voila! It's a village of poor Indonesians. Look at that little girl in the alley behind the bar whoring herself out to tourists."
I want this game.
Holy fucking what?
Anyone know about this game? It's appeared on both Japanese and European release lists (as "Petit Virus") and I'm somewhat intrigued. Even though I don't have a damn clue what it is. The publisher is "Keys Factory", seems to be mainly an accessories manufacturer.
age for general curiosity
Says it's a puzzle game. So, yeah, it'll be another Dr Mario/Puyo Puyo-style object dropping, or a Panel de Pon/Bejeweled style flipping tiles around. Probably with some "inventive" use of the stylus.
Anyone who has bought Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence and has an internet connection to their PS2 should check out my server "Warrior Nation" on LIQUID. We 4-chnners should also have a [4-ch] tag at the end of our names!
I'll check it out tonight (EST), I go by the name of Hoggert.
On the subject of Subsistence, how does one strafe and move backwards while firing? I've seen people do this and really need to know how myself in order to not die as much.
(1-san)
I don't have the server up 24/7, but I will have it on most of the day. Because you can't join it after selecting Host Only, whenever I want to play I have to kill the server :/
>>5
I haven't seen anyone do that, but I'll check it out.
>>5
I found out how to strafe and back up; while you're targeting an enemy in third person, hold L1 and you'll be able to circle around them and track their movement. It's effective when you don't have time to crouch/first-person aim.
i'm going to pick this bastard up on its european release, for damn sure.
also, how's the transration on the msx games? still into "I FEEL ASLEEP" territory?
I haven't played them through yet... I think I'm over playing old 2d games for the most part... :(
bippity bump
I started playing MGO last Tuesday. Are there any freqeuntly hosted *channer servers?
I'm either Brinat or Shimobi_moon. I'm usually on the Snake server.
Any good tetris clones for PC or PS2? I already know TGM series, but it's for arcade.
>>14
Hashira isn't a tetris clone. It's a different game.
call me anal, but i don't really want tetris DS just because of the nintendo-specific themes. i don't WANT to hear noises from another game every time I drop a block.
the whole idea of a DS dosen't thrill me in general. I'm not quite fond of the controls, and I have a tendancy to crush/bend the pointer pen easily because of excessive grip workout. the system just didnt work for me...
now the gp2x does look appealing. I love linux, and its a portable multimedia unit that can hook up to the tv, which works great for me. the only problem is its an import, and its expensive.
heres the link for it.

I would consider getting it w/ tax money, but that has to go everywhere but games right now.
>>19
careful with the gp2x. they're supposed to have very spotty quality control. i nearly bought one until the horror stories started coming out.
>>20
friend of mine has one. only problem was a shitty connection to the AC adapter.
bump for tetris clones
Does it have to be a clone? The official Tetris Worlds was damn good on PC.
tetris worlds? I have that for the GBA. I really hated the music. Thats why I just got the DS version.
lol
This all reminds me that I miss Tetrinet...
Game Boy Tetris is truly all you ever need. The rest is just filler.
Wii controller has speaker to play sounds. 27 games including Zelda on launch day, sometime this 4th quarter. New Mario. Touch Generations coming to North America, plus DS Starfox & Yoshi's Island. Wii sports shown, launch title. Looks like party game with tennis, golf, and baseball.
Traditional Wii controller unveiled without fanfare at official site.

the nintendo conference rocked my balls off. i'm still a massive nintendo whore at heart, so the OMG Yoshi's Island 2 factor was in effect, and the Wii is the first console launch I've been genuinely excited about in a long time. Even the name is growing on me. "Wii Sports", though? Jesus Christ.
I was a Sega fanboy way back when, then left consoles for PC gaming and emulation. With all the stuff Nintendo has been doing with the DS and now Wii, they've stolen my heart.
You know, there's still one big mystery about it that I haven't seen any news about. In the conference, Miyamoto conducts a virtual orchestra. The same gameplay idea is featured in the first Revolution trailer and the new E3 trailer. So far, it's one of the few pantomimed games in the trailers that has not been accounted for in announced upcoming games. I haven't seen any reports about some kind of musical conducting game or minigame within something else.
From the conference I think Nintendo will be difficult to beat in the next-gen, or put another way they've got a lot to mess up if they want to lose! But then does it matter, the Wii is a very different type of console so maybe it won't compete so directly with Sony or Microsoft. Nintendo know they can't beat them so you can understand them going in a different direction.

Could just be a demo or a concept for something that may or may not actually become a game, like Super Mario 128 for the Gamecube.
Didn't Mario 128 turn into Pikmin?
I didn't think much of the music conducting game. I can't see what it can do other than just control the tempo of the music, which dosn't sound like it would be much fun for long. To be honest I forgot about it as soon as they started showing the other stuff, until now.
>>7
Nope, still working on it. I don't think even the new Super Mario Galaxy is the actual Mario 128.
There were two games which were codenamed Mario 128, the later one is could be still in development, probably Super Mario Galaxy. The earlier one was a technical demo for the GameCube, which they probably turned into Pikmin.
Probably it'll turn up as an unlockable in something like Warioware.
Solid Snake on Smash Brothers Brawl! Due out early 2007. Watch the trailer!

Wii Madden impressions video. Lots of use of remote, especially in kicking.
