Controller thoughts (15)

I recently bought an "official" PS2 controller on ebay, which turned out to be a pretty close knockoff (the main giveaways being a few differences in the fonts used, and a couple of typos) - it works pretty much as well as the original, though.

So, since third parties are able to make these damn near perfect replicas, and we all know the PS2's is the best controller ever made, why don't they make GC and Xbox compatible versions of it?

there's a company that made a whole batch of controllers that are near-identical to the dualshock 2 because they were made in the same factory. i think sony did some law ninja shit on them though, so they probably can't make anymore.

There are adapters, >>1. You can buy one in-store for a PS2-Xbox adapter, but as for gamecube, you might need to look online (they might be instore, though).

I agree. PS2/PS1 Analog controllers are the best. I also enjoy the Gamecube controller for casual playing, which is what I do on my gamecube - lately, though, I dislike the SNES controller. And Dreamcast isn't as bad as everyone makes it out to be.

I may be the only person on earth who likes the original Xbox controller over the type S. My hands are pretty big, though, so I guess that might be the reason.

Lik Sang makes a BUNCH of adapters. They've probaby got a PS2>GC one. I got a PS2>PC-Engine(Turbo Grafx) adapter. It works great.

I know there are adapters, I was just wondering why these companies that make knockoff controllers always stick to reproducing the controllers for the system they were designed for.

A bigger mystery is this: Why did Sony ditch the Dual Shock for the PS3? Did they go batshit crazy?

Sony partnered with Batman, Satoshi Tajiri, and 17 latino store owners to create the ultimate controller for combat, sport, and gaming.

my bodega has bulletproof glass but it's the power of the cell that keeps me from getting robbed at three in the morning.

>>4 I've got relatively small hands for a caucasian male, but I still vastly prefer the original XBOX pad to the S myself. The buttons, especially W&B, are much more well located, and it just sorta fits the hands. I've got to admit, I like the 360 controller a lot, though.

I know everybody agrees, but the original XBOX controllers are pretty terrible, in my opinion. In fact, even the S ones aren't really quite to my liking.

Then again, one of my determining factors is whether you can play a Capcom fighting game well on the pad (purists would hold out for a stick, anyways, but...). Neither the pad nor the buttons are responsive enough for that task, in my opinion.

Then again, who needs responsive buttons when you've got EO-ism! SPD, losers!

>>4 I really did enjoy dukes more than the S controllers as well, but I mean, that's just personal preference.

Plus, I have small ASIA-HANDS.

TIME PARADOX.

I think they don't trust gamers to not mix them up. They're going for the recognition factor in order to get it off the shelf. Also a parent buying their kids a controller, when they don't play much themselves, will only get confused.
