recently my friend pursaded me to buy Diablo 2, and now i think i am addicted. Ive heard many addiction stories about diablo 2, it is like the one ring, you have to actually destroy the cd to stop yourself from playing it.
Ive heard people failing school/education because of it, and other people trying to stop their addiction by microwaving their cd's, or their parents destroying it for them, etc.
Anyone else who used to or still play diablo 2 have some kind of story to tell? and what is it that makes it so addictive?
I knew a guy in college named Rich. Rich was all about the dice gaming. He LOVED V:tM and had so many of the books. He dressed in suits, walked with a cane, and always wore a fedora and big aviator sunglasses. Rich was about 300 lbs and he was very well-read, had a hilarious sense of humor, and was an accomplished writer. He was a sophomore when I was a freshman.
He had an old P2 366 that he managed to make Diablo II happen on.
He knocked up his girlfriend, dropped out of school, broke off their impending engagement, bore the child out of wedlock, and he now works at a discount cigarette store in central PA.
He still plays Diablo II on that same computer.
I also had a roommate who refused to play Diablo II until he managed to get the Gotterdamerung again for his Paladin.
shrug
To tell the truth, I got bored with it after a while. But reading this thread has resparked my interest...
If you think Diablo 2 is addictive you sould try World of warcraft....
if you think world of warcraft is addictive you should try warning forever
If you think warning forever is addictive you should try baby star ramen

Diablo II is a lot of things, but I didn't know one of them was the secret to male pregnancy. :o
I thought about buying it a couple years ago, but I figured "Its already a few years old, I'll wait for diablo 3". We all know where this is going...
