OutRun 2006: Coast 2 Coast on PS2, PSP, and... PC!? (5)

It's going to have a mix of cars and tracks from OutRun2 and OutRun2 SP. I'm exited it's coming to the PC, worried that being a PS2 port it won't look as good as an OutRun2 Xbox port might have. If the powerslides are still fun, I'll buy it regardless. Now if they could just get an Outrunners sequel going...

Well, there's the problem. If they make an Xbox port, it'd obviously be better (the game runs on xbox hardware), but it's reasonable to assume it'll do about as well as Xbox Outrun2 already did. That is, it won't sell any copies in Japan, and will be marked down to $20 in the states immediately (it was released alongside burnout, for chrissake. it had NO CHANCE). It doesn't really have a shot here, but Sega probably figures they can get some sales in Japan.

The official site is live, and scheduled release for PS2 is March 31. It also has some nifty previews of the songs, both new and classic Outrun tracks. I thought the new songs might be dissappointing, but they're pretty catchy. It also looks like all versions will have multiplayer! :D Not much info on the PC version yet though. :(
