The MacOS X port wasn't made by Pixel himself, was it?
I doubt they simply remade the engine from scratch, so maybe they just asked Pixel reeeeaaaal nicely for the sourcecode?

I forget what resolution the game runs at, but it occurs to me that what I'd really like is a GBA version.
