Wii controller has speaker to play sounds. 27 games including Zelda on launch day, sometime this 4th quarter. New Mario. Touch Generations coming to North America, plus DS Starfox & Yoshi's Island. Wii sports shown, launch title. Looks like party game with tennis, golf, and baseball.
Traditional Wii controller unveiled without fanfare at official site.

the nintendo conference rocked my balls off. i'm still a massive nintendo whore at heart, so the OMG Yoshi's Island 2 factor was in effect, and the Wii is the first console launch I've been genuinely excited about in a long time. Even the name is growing on me. "Wii Sports", though? Jesus Christ.
I was a Sega fanboy way back when, then left consoles for PC gaming and emulation. With all the stuff Nintendo has been doing with the DS and now Wii, they've stolen my heart.
You know, there's still one big mystery about it that I haven't seen any news about. In the conference, Miyamoto conducts a virtual orchestra. The same gameplay idea is featured in the first Revolution trailer and the new E3 trailer. So far, it's one of the few pantomimed games in the trailers that has not been accounted for in announced upcoming games. I haven't seen any reports about some kind of musical conducting game or minigame within something else.
From the conference I think Nintendo will be difficult to beat in the next-gen, or put another way they've got a lot to mess up if they want to lose! But then does it matter, the Wii is a very different type of console so maybe it won't compete so directly with Sony or Microsoft. Nintendo know they can't beat them so you can understand them going in a different direction.

Could just be a demo or a concept for something that may or may not actually become a game, like Super Mario 128 for the Gamecube.
Didn't Mario 128 turn into Pikmin?
I didn't think much of the music conducting game. I can't see what it can do other than just control the tempo of the music, which dosn't sound like it would be much fun for long. To be honest I forgot about it as soon as they started showing the other stuff, until now.

Nope, still working on it. I don't think even the new Super Mario Galaxy is the actual Mario 128.
There were two games which were codenamed Mario 128, the later one is could be still in development, probably Super Mario Galaxy. The earlier one was a technical demo for the GameCube, which they probably turned into Pikmin.
Probably it'll turn up as an unlockable in something like Warioware.
Solid Snake on Smash Brothers Brawl! Due out early 2007. Watch the trailer!

Wii Madden impressions video. Lots of use of remote, especially in kicking.
