Didn't they originally plan for 4-6 million?

they planned 6 million until march.

pretty bad for sony and blue-ray i guess. MS and Wii will get all the X-Mas customers, which are a lot of course.

Lets hope Sony and MS dies. Then there is only Nintendo and Sega can do a new great console.

Yes, Wii all the way!

Let's see... Betamax, MD, UMD, Memory Stick, ATRAC... have any of Sony's proprietary formats ever gained acceptance in more than a niche, professional or regional market?

Gah, latest news is that now it's only 100,000 in Japan plus 400,000 in north america on launch day.

its normal since the PS3's technology is a bit advanced. Sony supplies blue-ray diodes or blue laser diode (lense) is not just for the PS3 but for other companies aswell like samsung, nec, pioneer etc...

It's not normal because they're not getting the yields they expected. It's not even all that advanced. A lot of developers are starting to scale back their games to 720p due to unstable framerates at 1080, which was one of the much-touted features of the PS3, games at 1080 or so-called "true" high-def.

In fact only Gran Turismo HD will be in 1080. The other games are 720.

Next-Gen sucks since 1999!

I don't know about you all but I don't like Sony consoles, I only play them because I have to because its where a lot of great games are. If I could make do with Wii then I'd be happy, Nintendo are the only people that bothering by the looks of it.

I get the impression alot of fanboys just wana play with their wii wii's...

wii sucks its not even a next-gen console compared to x360 and PS3 its just an updated version of gamecube.. it should be called Gamecube 2 and thats about it..

Your logic really doesn't make any sense. Sony numbers it's systems, not renaming them to something differnt. They have new features each time, it's not just the old system revised.

Given that the Xbox 360 and PS3 make no advancements other than slightly better graphics (who cares) I don't know how you can say that.

> except the wii is actually just a gamecube + wiimote

that's a good thing. gamecube++ && wiimote == great platform to develop for. I've done some work programming for the gamecube and I love it.

Sony is a waste of time. I can't imagine any NONmillionaires having HD to start with, so the cost (for full effect) is $1000 for the HD system + $600 for a console + $60 a piece for games. So if you get into HD -- the only reason to get ps3 over XBOX360 -- your talking $1600 WITHOUT GAMES.

Given that, and the fact that most gamers aren't rich, I'm expecting ps3 to be the Dreamcast of this generation. The big technically advanced system that nobody buys.
