Hurrah!
was it all you wanted for christmas?
All you need to now to make it fun is to hack it ^_^

Have fun! It's an incredible system. There is also no region lockout so you can import to your heart's content! I recommend getting Gurumin and Megaman Powered Up locally and then import the upcoming Fate/Tiger Coliseum if you like Type-Moon.
I'm seriously considering getting a PSP now. There's the likes of LocoRoco, Metal Gear:Portable Ops, Gurumin, Exit 1 and 2, Konami's Parodius collection (I'm a giant sucker for Parodius), the Megaman games, Dracula X remake, Outrun 2006, Ghouls'n Ghosts, Me & My Katamari, all the ports of PS1 RPGs that I missed out on the first time around (Breath of Fire 2, Tales of Eternia, Popolocrois?). And the GTA games.
Okay, most of this stuff is remakes or ports, but still. They're remakes and ports that I can play in bed!
I never play my PSP, or my DS, 360 all the way!
With homebrew, PSP is capable of emulating a good number of systems; I've seen SNES and N64 go to work on it, among other things (note that the N64 is accomplishable mostly because it is a MIPS-based system with 3D and sound hardware being emulated on a different MIPS-based system with different 3D and sound hardware; it negates a little bit of the effort the CPU needs for emulation).
I'd pick up a PSP in a heartbeat over a DS, and frankly I wouldn't spend a dime on a PSP game, I'd just retrogame.
Homebrew is really the only way to go with the PSP. Get an early firmware, then use Dark_Alex's 3.01 OE-B or 3.03 OE-A upgrades so you can have the best of both worlds.

Why not a GP2X, then?
GP2X can't run N64 games, I suppose. Or PSP games... or PS1 games at any reasonable speed, last time I played one.

Loco Roco is too damn short. Only 40 levels in total, each of which takes less than 10 minutes to complete. Not worth the money, I say.

Sometimes, in those rare deluded moments.

If you can get 30+ hours out of enjoyable playtime out of it, it's worth sending cash to the developer's pockets. Otherwise, it's not even worth piracy when you could be doing better things with your time.
Three red lights for the lose.
Seriously, the 360 is an amazing console. It's just that Microsoft fucked it up pretty badly by trying to get it out earlier than the other systems.
Basically anyone that has the first wave of Xbox 360's is fucked. I had one of them.
Either way, I love my PSP. I watch movies on mine more than I play games, but the games are still fun.
