I'm about to finish Final Fantasy VIII...just about to finish up disc 3 and am levelling with them stat bonuses now. It's getting abit boring so my thoughts have drifted to another FF...
FFVI
The classic SNES FF, but if I play it it'll be on the GBA
FFVII
a dude with a big sword and another with an even bigger one.
FFIX
monkey boy...incidentally, i ALWAYS rename Zidane. somehow i don't feel comfortable with the hero of a FF game having the same name as a French footballing legend.
Voting begins now!
I vote for IX. It could always use a little more love.
VI cause the other two fucking suck.
The GBA translation is a little different from the original SNES version, but over all its the same.
IX
best FF ever. Prove me wrong.

That's not VI!
Play SaGa Frontier instead.
I vote not FFVII. That shit is completely overrated.
Play IX. The best.
XII, there are some 30 - 50 hours of game
VI has my vote for being the best FF, challenging, complex, and so much overlooked by the younger audiences.
And anyway it is a game that deserves being played and replayed again.
I love em all, some might not be great but it's purely nostalgia. I will be replaying VI because i've never done the sidequests (!!) and i've read some about it and they are kickass hard!

My description of it being challenging and complex, of course, implied to play it fully, hehe. And yeah, some of the quests are REALLY hard. And most of the character quests are very touching (too bad Phoenix works only in battle...).
Tell us how the experience was when you get around to finishing it.
>>11 I will^^ pops FFVI into crappy anti-rpg ps3
My vote is split between I and IX... depends on if you need 3D or not I guess.
FFT
FF12 is quite good, because it doesn't include a cheesy story that recent FF series tend to have and the battle system is a cutting edge.
i vote ffvii because i want to see you suffer through the blocky legoman graphics that weren't even decent before the disc went gold
