Has anyone else succumbed to the lure of mindless digging and constructing vast fortresses out of cubes? I know I have.
Yes, it's damn addictive! Last two days I spend building a minecart station, I enjoy working with redstone quite a bit.
This game has a huge potential, there's so much talk and ideas floating around.
After the 1.6.6 Beta update, I'm not sure I want Notch programming it anymore.
I played a little bit on an online server but after I made a few houses, buildings etc I got bored and tried the single player. I was just as bored after a few minutes. Is there no aim other than digging stuff and running away from block monsters at night? Pretty boring.

If you go to Minecraft to destroy, you're doing it wrong. The whole goal of the game is to CREATE amazing things all the while fending off against random attacks and bizarre stuff. Actually pretty fun once you get used to it
>>5 Oh I have created a lot of things. I have spent hours making huge skyscrapers, castles, and weird things. But I just find it a bit boring. One would spend more time mining and digging than actually creating. Getting wood, cobble, smelting glass, etc is annoying as hell. Not much random happens aside from a few creepers and skeletons attacking you at night and in caves. It's just lacking any real aim for me.
I often have that problem with sandbox games. The freedom is fun at first, but eventually you get a little bored without any quests or aims and such.

Lckily notch is now working on NPC villages and quests.
My goal is to make the whole world flat.
