Games to Play at Work (6)

Okay gamers, I work in a factory where the job cycle is 54.2 seconds and my actual work cycle is 39.9 seconds. To fill the drudgery of 10 hour shifts, I bought a Samsung Epic 4g for texting, cruising the super highway, listening to music, and whatting the not.

As the months dragged on, these activities became less and less interesting. It got to the point where I purchased several emulators and rediscovered Advance Wars. Time flies as I check the battlefield, complete a job, come back and issue orders, complete another job, etc. This, of course, made me wonder what other games are able to be played at brief but regular intervals.

I already have Angry Birds and Nethack. The emulators I bought are for:
*NES
*SNES
*GBA
*Genesis/Master System
*Game Gear

Do you have any favorite games to recommend for play at work? Also, keep in mind that I'm not interested in watching The Cove.

Don't let the "/v/" part scare you, this site has a list of classic and underrated games for each platform dating back to atari

Bought? What?

Wait, are you talking about for your Samsung or for the computer?

You shouldn't be paying for emulators or roms either way.
There are actually a couple sites to emulate shit in browser. I know there are some for the NES, though I can't find the link.

I like Contra, Metal Slug, Ghosts n' Goblins, etc.

OP here. Thanks for the link >>2-san.

Yes, I did pay for the emulators on my handset. They were like $2 each, and that developer had fewer compatibility issues and had a few exclusive features compared to the free apps available. It really was a reasonable price, and developers do deserve payment for their work. Anyways...

Contra is awesome, so is Super Ghouls and Ghosts. Unfortunately, they are poor candidates for work games, since factory work is just too busy for a ten minute Doom break. Here are some examples of games I have been comfortably playing:

*Advance Wars
*Tactics Ogre
*Rebelstar

Those are all games where I can issue a few commands, hit the assembly line, and repeat for ten hours. See what I mean?

genesis has the two shining force games, those would work well for you. Fire emblem on gba/snes/nes would be good. the nes and snes ones are in japanese, as is one of the gba ones, though it has a translation patch available.

also on snes are bahamut lagoon, front mission, and a million more jrpgs. try out umihara kawase. it's a platformer but the stages are really short.

i don't really know much about them but adventure games may be a good choice if you can find some. famicom tantei club for snes was really good. there's a translation around somewhere.

Thanks >>5, it just might be time to try jrpgs again. Several years ago, I swore off of them because I found menu grinding on predetermined skillsets to be too tedious. It might be neat to go through them again to admire the sprites and engine balances.
