Just wondering if anyone else has had problems putting contact lenses in the first time?
I tried putting some in at one time before... but within the 30 minutes they gave me to try it out, i could not get them in for the life of me. Just this thing I have with putting something on my eye, I guess they are just sensitive. I'm going to try it again so does anyone have any tips as to how to get them in? Any help would be appreciated.
Just keep at it. Everyone has trouble at first.
2. Use one hand to hold open your eyelids and the other to hold the contact.
3. Turn your head back, so that when you try to get your contact in your eye, gravity is working for you.
4. Try again over and over until you get it. After a month it should go in pretty easily.
I had a terrible time when I first got my contacts. After a while, though, it does get easier.
I don't actually wear them anymore, though.... I found that no matter how clean the lenses/my hands were, if I hadn't gotten a full night's sleep before and been awake for at least an hour or so, they would burn like hell for 5 minutes after putting them in. What would cause that?
Yeah, you do get used to them. When I wore contacts I found I'd have to press them into my eye a bit to get the air bubbles out, otherwise when I blinked they'd fall out. Also make sure you tilt your head straight back and not to the side, that often messed it up for me.
And on the note of public safety, definitely check in with an optometrist if you aren't already, a bad pair of contacts can seriously mess up your eyes, and everyone reacts a bit differently. I tried out a new type of contacts for a few months, they were supposed to be the kind you only have to take out and clean once a week, higher oxygen permeability, all that. I wore them for a while and when I went to check with my optometrist he found a lesion on my eye that could have developed into a serious infection. I never would have known it was so serious if he hadn't told me. It's not that there was anything wrong with that brand of contacts or anything, he just said my eyes were "fighting the lens" and that I shouldn't wear them.
I never even had the option of 1-week lenses, disposables or anything. My eyes are so bad that I couldn't wear them for more than about 8-10 hours without becoming uncomfortable.

This exact same situation happened to me. I'm not too certain what is causing it, I always figured that perhaps over time the smooth coating of the lens had deteriorated and were kinda rough, but it's true that I am frequently undersleeping.
What does sleep have to do with it?
No, I've never worn contacts and likely never will. Sticking shit in my eyes every day doesn't sound too comfortable. I'm just wondering.
I figured it might be something to do with your tear ducts not working as much when you're asleep. Not sure if that's it, but it was all I could think of.
It took me a long time to get used to the idea of putting a piece of plastic on my eyeball, but it really doesn't seem like a big thing, now.
People say that wearing contacts look better than glasses, but I don't like the look of my face without glasses, I have a thick european eyebrow hump thing and stereotypical-nerd rings around my eyes. Also I feel like I blink more with contacts in.
Some people just look better in glasses. I'd like to wear contacts, but my eyes are always so dry, and I can't get them in without freaking out and blinking at the last second.
I think about look "Clarc Ken" is MOE. Really, i like men who use glasses. They have an intellectual face, that make me crazy
