I just received $75. If it were up to me, I would divide this money equally between 4-ch, Wikipedia, and the Red Cross. However, it's in the form of an Amazon gift certificate so I have to spend it.
Dear /general/, I have no material desires. Please tell me how to rid myself of this gift certificate in a way that I will enjoy.
Feel free to use this thread to ask your own questions about Christmas (e.g., "should I sell this crappy present on eBay?").
I hate gift certificates. They're just like money, except less useful, and they expire.
Are there any poor schools in your area? Maybe you could use the gift certificate to buy books for the kids there. It wouldn't benefit 4-ch, Wikipedia, or the Red Cross, but you could thereby spend the gift certificate in a charitable way.
Heheh, your ID has "orz". If this were another thread you'd be a winner.
I don't know any poor schools in Massachusetts, but if I did, I have a whole shelf-full of children's books to give them, so Amazon wouldn't contribute so much to that.

buy Dan Brown books for your someone you hate.
someone just did that to a friend of mine.
Don't do that; that's horrible. :(
Can't you donate to the Red Cross via Amazon?

I'll have to test that out with the gift certificate...
Nope, credit cards only (don't have one)
I nearly spent it all on the BBS documentary and Turkish Delight.
...then I backed out.
if you like anime, I know amazon.com sells some of those DivX DVD players, so you can use that to buy one and watch pirated anime on your main tv.
I'd be so envious...
otherwise, just look around. anything you've been needing?
there's nothing wrong with buying things for yourself.
Wanna trade me for best buy gift certificates?
I've got these things and, as it turns out, everything at best buy costs about $50 more than it does anywhere else. Man, what a ripoff store.
