It would be kinda cool if everyone gave input to what the top image could be, like some kind of mascot or symbol thought up by everyone! But I wonder what would suit this site...?
I like the top image just fine as it is.
If anyone was up for it, an uploader or imageboard could be set up where people submit their entries. No instant-uploading board like the iichan banner boards, those sucked. As did the old 4-ch board.

Junior and Grandpa are beyond my skill to flesh out into a full illustration, and although Needler Hall may be a 4-ch idea AFAIK the ASCII art isn't original to 4-ch. Hopefully someone with more skill or better ideas will come along.
I am all for a new top page image, honestly I do think we need something with less personality? Or at least less anime looking probably :(

I thought about grandpa, but I have no idea what his body looks like, or how to draw him as anything but a face. The very first image I did for thise site was a vector based logo with a monar face, maybe I could re-work that with grandpa's face!

Aside from the people that are happy with the current image, it looks like people are looking for something:
1) simple
2) fun
3) original
A 4-ch mascot would be the answer to all three. I personally don't think Junior and Grandpa fit the bill. Although we are based on 2ch and a good portion of the site is JPN-oriented, do we want the representation for the whole site to be JPN-oriented as well? Or do we need a from the ground up original mascot, a la Wakaba-chan?
