I was just curious about the demographics of 4ch. For instance, how many of you are high school age? College/university? Heck, maybe there are even middle schoolers here.
I am a second-year college student in Kentucky, USA. How about you? ( ´ω`)
I graduated from high school a year and a half ago. I don't want to do what they prepared me to do (earn a college diploma and then waste it as a wage slave for a nondescript corporation), so I've been a failure since then, living in my parents' house and not advancing my life in any way. I guess I'm a NEET, as people say around here.
3rd year of college! Internships soon.. shiver(((( ;゚Д゚)))
School is getting too easy these days. I was considering why Japanese panicked so much on the topic of exams, when I realized the reason that north americans don't have the same attitude might be because our school system is too easy. Our teachers practically tell us everything that will be on the exam! "I'll be compiling the exam using questions from your old tests." Jeez! Maybe if we made highschool harder, then university entrance requirements could be lowered a bit.
Realistically, giving a few people 80% and a lot of people 60% is a lot better than giving a few people 100% and a lot of people 80%. There is rarely a situation which justifies a 100%.
I'm 5th year highschool btw. Early acceptance into university makes my life much easier
I just graduated from college. The crazy extent of grade inflation in North America is common knowledge among professors and lecturers; however, I think it could not be any other way. We'd have to change everything about our culture to be able to halt it.
>>I'm 5th year highschool
Did you orz a grade?
I'm a 7th-year college student, so yeah, I orz'ed quite a bit. ( ;´Д゚`) That's what happens when you lose your scholarships, change majors, and work for a year... But I should finally graduate this semester! Now I have to start the job search... scary stuff.
I started an internship in the IT department of a local hospital last week. So far so good...
I'm in 9th grade and advanced math and science (taking AP statistics next year ^-^)
Third year NEET.
11th grade high school student in Boston, MA. give you a hint where i go, its the toughest best public high school in Massachusetts, mabye the country. and it SUCKS.the people there SUCK too. i take two APs and two honors classes. but, i suppose thisll help me later in life

grade inflation is getting serious, colleges who used to take applicants from my school, soley for the fact they come from my school, even if your gpa was shit. now, they actually got some prequistes and acceptance criterias nowadays

Nah just taking extra classes. Worst mistake of my life, though. Coming back for a 5th year sooo wasn't worth it.
Graduated from college last year.
NEET
graduated from highschool last year, worked, going to start college some time later
college student coasting my way through
I always see grade inflation as a a result that a C isn't considered 'average' anymore. Hell a 3.0 gpa isn't that impressive. Or maybe I have the cart before the horse? I'm not even sure that grades are an adequate repressentation of your knowledge in many, many cases.
Probably not. I have a 3.4 and I don't know shit... :(
it was 12 years ago
