First of all we have two cell phones, both of them work but the other one has lost its sound for some inexplicable reason, meaning that when someone calls, you can't hear the phone ring. However, that's not the problem I'm talking about.
The problem is, that for a month or two (or so) we've been getting calls to the broken phone which we have not answered because of the problem explained above. Well, you might think, we can always call back, so it's okay in a way, isn't it? Nope, sadly it isn't. Oddly enough every time we've got those calls it has come from a completely different number than the last time and when we've tried to call the caller back, each and every time no one has answered. Today we got a call from a telephone number that consisted only of fours, no other numbers.
As a side note, we haven't given the number of the broken phone to anyone and our numbers are set secret, so you can't find them from a phone book or from phone directories.
Inevitably my question is: what the hell is going on? Are we being targeted by a prankster or a phone hacker of some sort? Please help!

maybe you should just throw away the SIM card.

At the house I lived in before this one, I would get calls every other day that would just beep a few times when I answered them. Sometimes I would get like 10 in one day. It was pretty annoying!
