So, the engine of my car recently blew, and I just junked it today.

I'm looking for a cheap new used car (heh) and since I live in a rather closed off area, the usual places (craig's list, newspaper, ebay, abandoned parking lots) aren't working.

Anyone who's looked for a car has probably heard all of the hullabaloo about police auctions... yet the way they're advertised makes it seem like there's some sort of scam behind it. Like for one, I hear there's fees you have to pay even to register to attend.

Can anyone tell me what sites like governmentauctions.org wouldl tell me after they rip me off?
