Doesn't it suck that there's no religion for Asian people? (44)

1 Name: Anonymous : 2007-10-23 06:15 ID:QJw5vCbi

Christianity is for whites. Jews are God's chosen people and the religion were spread to white people first.

Islam is for Arabs, blacks, and other dark skinned people.

But we yellow skinned Asians don't have a religion or God to call our own....maybe Buddhism...but it's more of a philosophy than a real religion....

Who's the God for us Asians?

There's Shinto.

Shintoism isn't exactly a religion. Sure, it has gods and such, but there doesn't seem to be much focus on any overarching moralizing philosophy like there is in Christianity.

I guess Buddhism.

Err, it's not like Christianity is the definition of religion.

I figure you're a troll but I can't help but respond to this.

  • Christianity it not for "whites", in fact, most Christians aren't "White" in terms of European origin.
  • Your "Jews" and "Arabs" both stem from the same Afro-Semitic genetic line. Both are caucasian and not much more "dark-skinned" than the mediterreanean peoples that popularized Christianity.
  • Most Africans are either Catholic or Anglican, not Muslim.
  • Catholicism is a powerful force in South Korea, SE Asia, and the pacific.
  • If Mahayana Buddhism isn't a real religion, than Socrates isn't a real philosopher.
  • Than there's the plethora of minority religions in China and central asia, along with native shamanistic practices in china, siberia, Mongolia, NE Asia.
  • And then there's fucking hinduism.

Asian people don't have souls, why would they need God?

And other people don't have any sense of logic which is why they need a God to tell them what to do.

America har brainwashed you into thinking religion is something necessary.

Agree.

Monotheist religions, especially Chritianity, are best viewed as some kind of mental illness. Adults claiming to have some overpowered imaginary friend somewhere in the sky (among many other stupid things) really shouldn't be taken for full.

While other religions like Buddhism aren't that great either, at least they aren't based solely on guilt and fear (which just results in spreading hate and intolerance).

When you start to believe those that disagree with you are either lying or stupid... it's time to reexamine your priorities.

Does one have to believe in a deity to lead a good life and cooperate with others in common effort to better our lives? Can we not just use the teachings and drop the faith part?

It sucks that you feel you need to have a religion to be fulfilled. I hate using this word, but you sir, are a real conformist.

41 Name: Anonymous : 2007-11-10 04:09 ID:/O+X/9bM

But I forgive you for your sudden epiphany in >>7.

42 Name: Anonymous : 2007-11-10 22:30 ID:2whfD0m2

Well, religion is a positive in some things. If >>1 finds fulfillment in religion, I see no problem. Militant athiests are just as bad as militant christians. If someone is happy in his religion, leave him alone.

But that's the thing, he doesn't have a religion.
