I just got into an argument with one of my roommates about how much I hate living at the college that I attend, and would most likely not like it anywhere else. I am approaching my final semester here and getting ready to graduate. My question is for those who have been through college and are now in the work force. Is it better than what College was? Do you feel freer? I know that since I go to a private school there are more restrictions and expectations. Does it feel better actually having money for once and not necessarily being paranoid if you can afford something like the movies?
> now in the work force. Is it better than what College was?
Define 'work force'.
> Do you feel freer?
No. In college, if I didn't show up for class they didn't care.
If I don't show up for work I get fired.
> Does it feel better actually having money for once and not necessarily being paranoid if you can afford something like the movies?
Don't have money thanks to the shitty service-based economy that results from the multi-national corporate conglomerates shipping jobs overseas. Also the inflated number of college graduates from to diploma mills, grade inflation, and consequence-free exam cheating at even the most 'prestigious' schools make the competition for that stocking job at Wal-Mart intense.
> Define 'work force'.
The sum total of everyone who is currently employed, and everyone who is actively looking for work.
Notably this "work force" phrase is used to make unemployment figures look lower, as people who aren't actively looking are not counted as unemployed.

College was four of the happiest years of my life. Lots of free time, sex, drugs, and delightfully immature, creative behavior.
You will never have a time with less real responsibility and more opportunities to have a spontaneous good time with people your own age once you enter the real world.
Get drunk. Get laid. Have a pompous discussion at midnight about the meaning of life with a bunch of your classmates on some roof or other.
