It's an appealing thought to me that while everyone is at work or school, I'm just here doing nothing. Does anyone else know what I'm talking about?

Life's good when we are failing but why???

Been NEETin it up for a couple years now... 18 years old and working up the courage to finish community college >:O
It's probably because they've only been NEET for a short while. After two years I became very lonely, apathetic, and depressed so I tried to get a job and become more social. I'm slowly improving but am still fairly miserable.
The first few months are truly exhilarating though. You feel incredibly free to do what you want and not bound by society.

That's why you have to alternate every year or so in order to optimize the feel-good aspects of being a NEET without completely destroying your ability to interact with other people.
