Sometimes I get a feeling that seems identical to nostalgia, but for places/times that I've never experienced myself. For example, sunsets seen through trees at this time of year give me a strong impression of the 1970s (I was born in 1990).

Am I just crazy, or does anyone else experience this kind of thing?

That depends on what impression you're getting about the 1970s.

Nothing weird here, you're just linking the image of sunset to the 70s movies you have watched. That happens to me as well, it's just nostalgia for a time we have experienced indirectly with movies and music.

Maybe your parents talked to you about those times, too.

sometimes i feel the same in different situations, but not really sunsets or 70's. depends. probably because of readings, internet, movie, heard of relatives etc.

what OP felt probably memory recollection

>>5 dejavu is more like when a situation happens more than twice, and one can remember when it occurs.

Personally, I always get nostalgic for the great era of nostalgia - the Golden Age, I call it. I don't know when exactly it is, but It looks like wood, and brass, and quiet bars and drinks that shine like jewels. Everything shines like golden sepia.

And I always feel nostalgic for that imaginary time when I hear Old New Orleans Jazz music - something like this - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fvr7nkd_IJM only a little more upbeat, but just a slow.

Which is strange because I was born in the 80's.
