The reason people should be anonymous is because otherwise, when would-be good posters find the site, they see a pathetic, insular spectacle of a few whiny dorks talking to each other. As opposed to seeing interesting conversation being carried on and saying, "Hey, I can do this too."

In other words, I am really skeptical if any true diversity can occur without it.
