There's already a thread that sort of deals with this problem, but I thought I would make one for it specifically. I want to block myself from certain sites (like 4chan) so that I won't waste more time on them, so I need some kind of free way to block sites. I tried using the hosts file, but I always ended up getting a link to 4chan from somewhere else and as a result going into the hosts file and editing 4chan out. I need something that I can stick a nonsense password in, write it down and hide it password somewhere. Any suggestions?
block the ip's in your router. That's a lot of work to remove out again
Complain to your ISP about 4chan containing CP.
Just get yourself banned for 4chan. Use moot's trip, or post with your name as Joe.

I would do that, but I share my router. Thanks for the suggestion, though.

It's nearly impossible to get banned from /b/, but I did try that once. I posted loli on /a/ asking for a ban, and they only gave me a week-long ban. Didn't help much. Besides, 4chan isn't the only site I'm addicted to...
The result:
If that isn't enough, just set a random password on the proxy box.
