Most conventional boards with fixed account identities, shunning of sockpuppetry etc. that are based on phpBB or similar shite are giving you the option to "hide" your online status, so that it doesn't appear anywhere on the forum.
I usually hide. I do this because I don't want people to know when I am online, mostly in a lame attempt to disguise how much time I spend browsing the forum but also because I want to be able to relax, have some time-off lurking and not be hit up by people through privat messages the minute they see me going online.
How do you feel about "hiding"? Do you do it? What's your rationale? Let's start a "hidden users" club!
you need to get a life mother fucking bitch

I do it mostly because I feel paranoid about people reading my profile and old posts. I don't like how people on forums can link things that I said a long time ago to me personally and hiding decreases the chances of that. Or something. In fact, I would post without a name or postcount if I could.

Hey, me too. Are you selling?
It's motherfucking free, motherfucker. Motherfucking go motherfucking out every motherfucking once in a motherfucking while... motherfucker.
roflfucker.
also topic:
i always hide on such forums.
>>3 On the one hand, I agree with you. Sometimes we say something stupid and we shouldn't have to look over our shoulders because of it. On the other hand, I don't think it's right that somebody can just spout any bullshit they like because they happen to either be drunk or just plain stupid.
I simply don't post on any forums that require me to register. I don't like the idea of having an identity or post history that others can view. It just sits wrong with me.
>>7-san is right. phpBB forums are way too slow and registration is complicater. I can't just stroll into some forum by accident and look that someone's having a tiny problem with something. Instead of just answering it I would have to register there'n'shit. I'm also too of a social reclusive to have friends in the internet. It takes just as much from me as it would IRL.
I suspect my ID may have been hijacked from several such forums. Have zero evidence, though. As a former donator to iichan, though, this concerns me quite a lot.
>>10 here. I also say "though" far too often, though. Wonder if the emacs psychiatrist could cure me.
I wish I could remove all online identities I have ever created.
Just proofread your posts, and take out all of the "though"s. Come up with something else to put in where they're missing.
Example:
"Though she's not a witch, burn her"
Turns into
" Shitting dick nipples she's not a witch, burn her"
I was banned from 4chan yesterday for 15 days and for what? asking one of the boards why there are only 3 pages and why there is so much brazilian stuff on there...I pleaded to the mod tellin him he has the wrong guy but my appeal was denied...what should I do? ;_;

So wait the fifteen days. You're already in six, so you got nine left to go. That's a week and two days till it expires,. I think you'll manage. Besides, 4chan is terrible, stay on here instead.
