There is a board on AnonIB (if you dare enter that festering cesspool) for western hikkis. Some of them seem legit though, like 5+ years shut in. I didn't think there were any outside Japan either, but it might not be such an isolates phenomenon.

I hope that I don't fall down the path of the hikkikomori whilst I'm on suspension from school.
I've gotten into a hikki's sleep schedule and would stay in it if it weren't for the fact that I'm the president of the Anime Club.
And my amazing girlfriend. Though I swear the if we lived together, we'd both end up being Hikkikomori's in my current situation.

Essentially, I messed up on two of my classes: in one, I didn't do enough of the assignments on time, in the other, I did terrible on the tests.
It's odd that I've been slowly slipping into the mindset of a hikkikomori at home; yet, once outside, I become pretty active.
Parts of my collegian life would be good for a slice of life anime, but other parts would be just my crazed rantings in my head.
