Mandarin
Cantonese
Spanish
German
French
Italian
Korean
I'd say these languages are pretty popular in America. I was wondering whether any of them stuck out as easy on the ears or harsh-sounding to you. And whether you think the languages you know play a hand in that.
For me, I speak Mandarin but I think the Asian languages I listed all sound awful. I naturally switch to Chinese only when I'm arguing with someone. I could only imagine how a non-Chinese speaker would feel about it...
I haven't heard about Cantonese and Italian. But for me Mandarin and Korean sound similar especially when swearing and
both are awful(when i hear Mandarin of Korean it feels like the speaker is really pissed off). Spanish sound like Mandarin+English.(yes it's awful to but better than Korean and Mandarin)
French sound like gay speaking something
German just remind me of 3rd Reich immediately.
well I can't choose best-sounding language
the language you listed sound all awful
>for me Mandarin and Korean sound similar
Wow, I thought I was the only person who thought that.
Well, I'm learning Korean now so I don't anymore, but I used to think Korean sounded like Mandarin when I caught little snatches of it or when people spoke quickly.
Also didn't we have this thread before?
Comparing Mandarin and Korean is like comparing English and Italian.
Korean sounds more guru guru, and their pitch goes up and down a lot more. Mandarin has more sharp, straight and short sounds.
Very, very distinct from one another.
Korean sounds like someone is going to bust you open with their chin
