I think Japanese is more difficult than English.
I've been trying to learn to speak and write Japanese for a long time now but still haven't got the hang of it. Its all a matter of will perhaps like how much do you REALLY want to learn.

The pronunciation of Japanese language is simple and this makes it difficult for Japanese people to learn foreign languages, I think.
I can understand sentences written in English but it's hard to understand English spoken in the news or films etc..

I'm English and find Japanese hard to learn, but English is definitely harder to learn. Because although some kanji can have several different meanings, they are still written and pronounced the same.
In English, there are words that are spelt the same and sound different and words that sound the same and are spelt differently, all with different meanings. I can imagine it gets very, very confusing!
