American Sign Language (3)

I'm currently learning ASL and LOVING IT. I'm functionally hard-of-hearing, and I've never been taught any tools to deal with my hearing. This has caused me many problems growing up.

I just picked ASL randomly when I was picking an elective class, and fell in love, and it turns out it will be a big help to me. I'm now planning to go into an ASL related field, probably having to do with education.

For those who are interested, I've found some good resources to help learn it. I'm also taking a college course in it, so I think these internet sites are just to help out, not really the end-all be-all resource.

These have been a big help. Hope all you late-signer deafies and HOH, and the hearing who are interested will find these helpful.

Discussion on ASL and other sign language welcome!

thanks for sharing those resources. I always wanted to learn sign language, but I know of no people who can sign, so usage would be really limited.

On the other hand, I'm soon moving to another town, where a friend learned sign language because her father was deaf. That might be enough of a spark for me to start learning it. I always found it so cool that you could talk without sounds, I think everyone should get a primer at school

I only know a little sign since my brother has autism. Now I'm suddenly hoping to meet a deaf girl.
