When you give your girlfriend a present, how do you give her it?

I have had a girlfriend for almost a year and a half, and whenever I give her a present I make it as simple as possible. Plain, single colored bag, things wrapped and organized simply and neat. I also don't give her a card normally, because I hate cards. I would much rather give a written note or something of the like.

I am not a big fan of huge glamorous elaborately wrapped, cheese-ily planned gifts. Whenever I hear of people proposing at, like, disney world, it makes me sick. She loves the presents I give her, and loves the way I give them as well.

How do you guys like to give gifts to your girlfriends (or boyfriends)?

If I were to have a boyfriend and give him a gift, it would be elaborately planned with details, tasteful, as well as respect his personality by taking into account colour and design. I wouldn't imagine the wrapping and presentation of gifts I give to friends and boyfriends would be much different. Simple is always better, but I like to show I care.

I take a lot of care in wrapping a present for a boyfriend, it is just as important as the present itself. It always depends on the boyfriend for me.

If he is a tough sort of man I do not want to slight his masculinity by giving him something wrapped femininely, so I will wrap it in black and or white.

If he is a lighter and more refined man who is secure in who he is I do not have to worry as much about offending his masculinity. So, he will have colors, royal blue, gold, or red with grosgrain ribbon.

I generally don't wrap the presents however my girlfriend likes cards so I try to ensure I get a good one for her every time.

I do give my S.O. cards. However, none of the premanifactured crap. I always make my own cards, in various shapes and styles, depending on the occasion and what they're for. He likes getting loveletters and cards a lot, as he feels handwriting is much more personal than printed stuff.

Giftwise I tend to go for personal stuff, wrapping it nicely though not ridiculously elaborate. Depends on the person i'm wrapping something to, really. A friend of mine loves having layer upon layer upon layer of wrappings, so that she can spend hours unwrapping her gifts. Fortunately I don't have many friends with that taste in giftwrapping.
